  • Patent number: 6192695
Abstract: A refrigerating cycle with a by-pass duct 5 in which heat exchange for heating is arranged to be performed in an evaporator 4 without passing refrigerant through a condenser 2 is designed to perform an auxiliary heating mode suitable for the instantaneous conditions by controlling the amount of refrigerant circulating in response to the load and the like. A by-pass duct 5 for supplying the refrigerant from the compressor 1 to the evaporator 4 without passing it through the condenser 2 is placed in juxtaposition. Between the outlet of the evaporator 4 and the inlet of the compressor 1 an accumulator 6 for temporarily storing low-pressure refrigerant liquid is provided so that the amount of refrigerant circulating is controlled by accumulator 6 while the refrigerant circulates via by-pass duct 5 without passage through condenser 2.

  • Patent number: 6152178
Abstract: In a four-way directional control valve of simplified construction and reduced manufacturing costs, first and second hollow cylindrical valve elements are arranged coaxially. Adjacent to opposite ends of the valve elements, first and second valve seats and first and second valve closure elements are provided. First and second pressure-regulating chambers are arranged between separator walls of the valve elements and first and second partition walls associated to the first and second valve seats. A pilot valve can be switched between switching positions for introducing high-pressure fluid originating from a first pipe into the first or second pressure-regulating chamber via a common high-pressure passage, a high pressure introducing hole and two pilot holes, respectively, associated to the pressure-regulating chambers.

  • Patent number: 5702235
Abstract: A capacity control device for variable-capacity compressors with a high-pressure valve portion 36 for opening or closing the communication between the discharge chamber 21 and the crank case 12; a low-pressure valve portion 41 for opening or closing the communication between the suction chamber 20 and the crank case 12; a valve open-close member 35 for opening or closing so as to reverse the open-close relationship between the high-pressure valve portion 36 and the low-pressure valve portion 41 by advancing or retreating; a pressurising chamber 53 for applying pressure to the valve open-close member 35 in a direction that opens the high-pressure valve portion 36 by a wider effective pressure-receiving area than that of the high-pressure valve portion 36. The device is driven with only small actuation forces by an electromagnetic solenoid 50 to open or close a communicating path between the discharge chamber 21 and the pressurising chamber 53 (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5303864
Abstract: In an expansion valve for controlling the flow rate of a refrigerant supplied to an evaporator of a refrigerating system, a temperature-sensing chamber is provided to sense the temperature of the refrigerant returning from said evaporator and to actuate a valve mechanism in order to regulate the flow of refrigerant supplied to said evaporator. An adsorption means provided inside the temperature-sensing chamber to adsorb a liquefied part of a gas charge within said chamber in order to hold said liquefied part away from warm wall parts inside said chamber. In addition, or as an alternative, said temperature-sensing chamber is separated from a return passage of said refrigerant by thermal-transfer-delay means for delaying the thermal transfer of a temperature change from the refrigerant to a sealed charge within said temperature-sensing chamber. Said thermal-transfer-delay means can be made as a flow restrictor for supressing an excessive flow between said chamber and said return passage of the refrigerant.

  • Patent number: 4722229
Abstract: A pressure transducer having a magnetoresistive element and a magnet displaced with a diaphragm. A magnet supporting device is mounted on an element supporting device both for slidable movement in the displacement-direction of the magnet and for rotatable movement about an axis in the direction, so that the pressure transducer is capable of having a O-point adjustment and a magnetic sensitivity adjustment made independently of each other without interaction between the two when the transducer is assembled.
