  • Patent number: 6746294
Abstract: A method for fabricating a flat, light-emitting display panel includes the steps of applying frit seal to the pin electrodes in a state of pressing the rear panel against the front panel to keep them in contact with one another using a flat plate having an opening formed at a position corresponding to each of the pin electrodes; drying the frit seal to fix provisionally the rear panel to the front panel; detaching the flat plate from the both panels; applying frit seal to an end of the front panel and a side face of the rear panel; and burning the whole of components. The sequence of the application of the frit seal to the pin electrode and the application of the frit seal to the end of the front panel and the side face of the rear panel may be altered. The frit seal having flowability less than the frit seal applied to the pin electrode is applied to the end of the front panel and the side face of the rear panel.

  • Patent number: 6555960
Abstract: In a cell drive-type flat display panel, a metal electrode pad 26 and common signal line 24 are disposed outside the area (effective area) facing a recessed portion forming a cell. The individual cell electrode 20 acting as a cell electrode within the effective area is connected to a metal electrode pad 26 by extending each cell electrode to the metal electrode pad 26, while the metal electrode is not extended toward the effective area to cover each cell electrode. A common electrode 22 is connected to the common signal line 24 by extending each cell electrode to the metal electrode pad 26, while the metal electrode is not extended toward the effective area and to cover each cell electrode. This structure makes the cell electrodes flat and can reduce the drive voltage from the effect resulting from the suppressed dielectric film. The metal electrode pad 26 has a top surface on which a pin electrode is posted.

  • Patent number: 6528944
Abstract: A flat display panel is provided which can improve the reliability of the contact portion where a flat plate and a back plate are bonded together and can suppress the display dead space. Recessed portions 52 are formed in a glass substrate 60 so that a sealing wall 63 is formed along the outer fringe of a back plate 61. The front plate 54 includes a protrusion 59 protruding outward from the sealing wall 63 on the outer fringe portion thereof. The contact portion between the front plate 54 and the back plate 61 is sealed by depositing fritted glass 62 onto the corner portion defined by the protrusion 59 and the side surface of the back plate 61. In order to improve the sealing effect, the fritted glass 62 is inserted into the gap at the bonding portion. The groove 64 is formed on the top surface of the sealing wall 63 to prevent the fritted glass 62 from intruding in to the discharge space.

  • Patent number: 5228184
Abstract: A method of manufacturing thin film magnetic heads. One embodiment of the present method features the step of placing a separating layer on a substrate and placing subsequent element layers of one or more thin film magnetic heads on the separating layer. Upon imposition of separating conditions, the thin film magnetic head is released, allowing the substrate to be reused.
