Patent number: 8500423Abstract: A rotary fluid pressure device includes a gerotor gear set having a ring gear and a star gear orbitally moveable about a longitudinal axis relative to the ring gear. The star gear includes an annular spacer ring disposed at one end of the star gear. A brake pin is moveable along the longitudinal axis into and out of interlocking engagement with the annular spacer ring. The brake pin includes an outer surface for engaging an interior surface of the spacer ring. The outer surface of the brake pin and the interior surface of the spacer ring are each angled relative to the longitudinal axis to engage each other in a tapered engagement, to generate an axial force along the longitudinal axis to move the brake pin out of engagement with the star gear in response to a torque being applied to the star gear.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2010Date of Patent: August 6, 2013Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Hisatoshi Sakurai, Yasukazu Mishima

Patent number: 8430017Abstract: A control device for controlling a speed of a hydraulic motor includes a housing defining a first void. A speed valve is disposed within the first void and is moveable between a first speed valve position and a second speed valve position. The first void includes a speed valve pressure chamber disposed at one end of the speed valve. A speed valve spring is disposed at another end of the speed valve. The housing further defines a speed change port and a speed change passage interconnecting the speed change port and the speed change pressure chamber for directing a pressurized fluid directly into the speed valve pressure chamber to exert a pressure force on the speed valve and bias against the speed valve spring to move the speed valve between the first speed valve position and the second speed valve position.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2009Date of Patent: April 30, 2013Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Michio Kurokawa, Hisatoshi Sakurai

Patent number: 8157552Abstract: A rotary fluid pressure device (11) includes an end cap (23) which is disposed rearwardly of, and adjacent, the fluid displacement mechanism (21). The end cap defines a piston cavity (103) in which is disposed a lock piston (105), which is moveable between a first position and a second position, in which the forward portion (107) of the lock piston extends within a central opening (121) of a rotor member (49) to prevent movement. A release piston (137) is disposed in a central opening (125) of one of the housing member (13) and stationary valve member (63). A brake pin (141) is disposed in a bore (139) of a drive shaft (57), with a first axial end of the brake pin being operably associated with release piston and a second axial end being operably associated with the lock piston.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2007Date of Patent: April 17, 2012Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Michio Kurokawa, Shoji Nakazawa, Hisatoshi Sakurai

Patent number: 7845919Abstract: An embodiment of a gerotor apparatus includes a housing including a first member. The first member includes a brake pin aperture formed therein. The apparatus also includes a brake pin at least partially interposed within the first member. The brake pin includes a first annular surface and a second annular surface. The first annular surface defines, at least in part, a first brake chamber. The second annular surface defines, at least in part, a second brake chamber. A first fluid introduced into the first brake chamber will urge the brake pin in a first direction. A second fluid introduced into the second brake chamber will urge the brake pin generally in the first direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2007Date of Patent: December 7, 2010Assignee: Eaton CorporationInventors: Eiji Fukuchi, Hisatoshi Sakurai
