  • Patent number: 7036967
Abstract: A reflector of a vehicle lamp includes a main reflector, a first sub-reflector, a second sub-reflector, and a relief portion. The main reflector includes a main reflection surface that reflects light from a light source in a forward direction. The first sub-reflector includes a first sub-reflection surface that reflects the light toward the second sub-reflector. The second sub-reflector includes a second sub-reflection surface that reflects the light reflected from the first sub-reflection surface in the forward direction. The second sub-reflector is arranged closer to the center axis than the main reflector, and the first sub-reflector is arranged farther from a center axis of the light than the main reflector, inclined inward via the relief portion, so that the light reflected from the main reflection surface is not blocked.

  • Patent number: 5974872
Abstract: A pneumatic tire has a tread pattern shaped in such a fashion that pitches determined by groove portions disposed on a tread surface in a predetermined pitch in at least a tire circumferential direction have at least three different kinds of pitch lengths. An amplitude waveform corresponding to the frequency of noise resulting from the pitch arrangement per circumference of the tire is determined by a noise simulation method, and whether or not the pitch arrangement determined by the noise simulation is a pitch arrangement of a low pattern noise is evaluated from the value of a correlational coefficient R between the amplitude waveform and a quartic expression obtained by the regression of the amplitude waveform.

  • Patent number: 5957190
Abstract: In a method of integrally attaching a hollow member to a cast product by casting so that the hollow member communicates with a hollow interior of the cast product, a closure member is fitted into an open end of the hollow member so that the open end of the hollow member is closed by the closure member. The closure member projects from a core for forming the hollow interior of the cast product in a direction different from a direction in which the core is drawn out of the cast product. A molten metal is poured into a casting mold after the casting mold has been clamped. The closure member is moved inside the core after solidification of the molten metal so that the closure member is released from the fitting in the hollow member. The core is drawn out of the solidified metal subsequently to the moving step of the closure member.
