  • Patent number: 7545459
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a flat display panel, and a housing which surrounds the display panel. The housing includes a backboard portion facing the display panel and a sound emitting portion. A vibrating plate is arranged in a region corresponding to the sound emitting portion between the display panel and the backboard portion of the housing. A first spacer is attached to a rim portion of one surface of the vibrating plate, the first spacer being interposed between the vibrating plate and one of the backboard portion of the housing and the display panel. A second spacer is attached to a rim portion of the other surface of the vibrating plate, the second spacer being interposed between vibrating plate and the other of the backboard portion of the housing and the display panel. The first and second spacers are made of materials having different degree of hardness.

  • Publication number: 20070189560
Abstract: A piezoelectric sound generator module is provided which has a reduced thickness and superior mountability while ensuring good sound pressure characteristics. A sound generating structure and an electronic device, each utilizing the sound generator module, are also provided. The sound generator module has a structure in which a holding member and an acoustic space forming member are bonded to each other while a piezoelectric vibration plate including piezoelectric elements bonded to front and back sides of a vibration plate is held between both the members. A window allowing the piezoelectric vibration plate to vibrate without interference and a lead-out portion are formed in the holding member. An acoustic space, a lead-out portion, and a sound guide path are formed in the acoustic space forming member. By bonding the piezoelectric vibration plate and the acoustic space forming member to the holding member, a thin sound generator module including the sound guide path in itself is formed.

  • Patent number: 6794798
Abstract: A display device and an electronic equipment having a high reproduction quality can be provided without hampering the scalability or the portability of the display device and the electronic equipment. A notebook computer includes a main body, a keyboard, a display device and a display panel. The display panel is formed of a flat type, which is made of an LCD or a PDP. The display device can be folded toward or folded away from the keyboard side of the main body. The speaker panel is completely formed as a planar shape and is movably installed with respect to a reception slit prepared at two side surfaces of the display device. The speaker panel is movably jointed to allow a relative position between the flat panel display and the speaker panel to be changed by moving the speaker panel.

  • Patent number: 6290322
Abstract: A recording apparatus which reduces consumption of ink by preventing unnecessary recovery operation during a printing job by an ink-jet method. First, the recording apparatus detects whether a recording mode is a black and white printing mode or color printing mode. Second, if the printing mode is the black and white printing mode, then the image recording is performed by using only nozzles for K(black), as well as an idle discharge operation is performed only on the nozzles for K. Whereas if the color printing mode is detected, then the image recording is performed by using all the nozzles for C(cyan), M(magenta), Y(yellow), and K(black), as well as the idle discharge operation is performed on all the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 5734684
Abstract: In a demodulation device for processing a received data including a predetermined pattern, at each m bits, a bit pattern including the predetermined pattern is set, and the received data is shifted by one bit each time. A result of the shift is compared with the set bit pattern each time shifting is performed. The result of the shift is output in the case where coincidence is obtained. In the case where coincidence cannot be obtained, comparison is continued.

  • Patent number: 5343200
Abstract: Analog data which enters an analog/digital converter 401 is converted into corresponding digital data. The resulting digital data is outputted upon being shifted by a bit shifting circuit. The latter shifts the digital by a number of bits set in a bit-shift quantity setting register. As a result, automatic gain control can be performed by relying on simple processing without using an amplifier consisting of complicated analog circuitry. For example, by setting a "+1" bit in the bit-shift quantity setting register, the data resulting from the A/D conversion can be doubled. The data can be multiplied by eight if a "3" bit is set, and by 1/4 if a "-2" bit is set.
