  • Patent number: 5145261
Abstract: A linear guide device comprising a straight guide rail, and a movable body having an approximately inverted U-shaped cross section and movable as fitted over the guide rail. A line through the center of curvature of the circular-arc portion of the movable body ball guide groove to be in point contact with the ball in the load reducing region is shifted, when seen in cross section, on a line extending from said line and extending through a point away from a straight line through the points of contact of the ball with the circular-arc portions of the ball guide grooves in a maximum loading region, within a range closer to the guide rail than a line through the center of curvature of the circular-arc portion of the guide rail ball guide groove to be in point contact with the ball, and is thereby made to gradually approach the line of the guide rail through the center toward the reverse passage.
