  • Patent number: 9219795
Abstract: A moving picture suitable for display on a mobile telephone is displayed comparatively quickly. When a moving picture is requested, a leading segment of the moving picture is converted. The leading segment has an amount of data which, after the conversion, is less than the amount of data that is displayable on the mobile telephone that issued the request. A succeeding segment, which can be converted while the leading segment is being transmitted to the mobile telephone and viewed by the user of the mobile telephone, is converted. If there is a request for the succeeding segment after the leading segment is viewed, the conversion of the succeeding segment will be finished by the time of the request for succeeding segment. As a result, the succeeding segment can be transmitted to the mobile telephone quickly, and it can be viewed rapidly.

  • Patent number: 8681860
Abstract: In principle, an I-frame is inserted every 50 frames and other frames are made P-frames. If the maximum amount of data that can be received by a terminal device to which a transmission is to be made is 300 KB, then frames up to a 144th frame for which the amount of data after compression will not exceed 300 KB is adopted as a first partitioned moving picture file. Since the 145th frame is the leading frame of the next partitioned moving picture file, it is made an I-frame. Frames from the 145th frame to a 289th frame are made a second partitioned moving picture file, and frames from a 290th frame to a 411th frame are made a third partitioned moving picture file. Since the leading frame of a partitioned moving picture file represents one complete frame, the moving picture can be reproduced and the number of partitions can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20130263228
Abstract: A method (and system and server) in which, when a mobile phone unauthorized by a data server requests an access to a document stored in the data server, the unauthorized mobile phone sends a request for access permit to an authorized mobile phone. The authorized mobile phone sends back information for temporary access to the unauthorized mobile phone. On the basis of the information for temporary access, the unauthorized mobile phone transmits a request for temporary access to the data server, upon which the data server transmits information for judgment to the authorized mobile phone. On the basis of the information for judgment, the authorized mobile phone judges whether the unauthorized mobile phone should be permitted an access to the requested document. The unauthorized mobile phone is granted a temporary access to the requested document if the document is currently displayed on the authorized mobile phone.

  • Patent number: 8528098
Abstract: An electronic file browsing system includes an electronic file delivery device and a file processing server. When document file browsing is requested from a mobile phone, a mobile phone access server in the file delivery device creates link information including session ID as authentication information and sends it to the mobile phone. Based on this link information, the mobile phone accesses the file processing server. The file processing server obtains session ID from the mobile phone and adds this session ID to the delivery request of the document file to the mobile phone access server.

  • Patent number: 8068142
Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a communications device which can receive from another communications apparatus by wireless an image-capturing condition of restricting an image-capturing process or a sound recording condition of restricting a sound recording process, and a device which performs an image-capturing or sound recording process according to the received image-capturing condition or sound recording condition. Thus, a user can automatically set a recording function of a recording apparatus in a restricted state without special care in a position where image-capturing, sound recording, etc. are prohibited, thereby recording on an allowed condition.

  • Publication number: 20100245042
Abstract: An authenticator authenticates a person at a cellular telephone according to a registered given user biometrically, in which a predetermined threshold is used in comparison with degree of matching between face images. A location information retriever retrieves information of a first location of the cellular telephone upon retrieval of the person's face image, and a second location of the cellular telephone after detecting the first location at a predetermined time. A movement detector detects whether travel of the cellular telephone occurs upon retrieval of the person's face image according to the first and second locations. A log database unit stores information of the travel from the movement detector. A threshold determining unit determines the threshold according to the information of the travel in relation to one or more earlier event logs of authentication.

  • Publication number: 20100198824
Abstract: A keyword or the like effective for conducting a search is appended to an image. Subjects contained in an image are detected. The subject names and positions of the respective subjects that have been detected are detected. Keywords representing broader concepts of the detected subject names and the positions of the subjects are stored in correlation with the image as data to be used in searching for the image. If a search for the image is conducted, the subject names or broader concepts of the subject names, which serve as keywords, and the positions of the subjects are input. An image that matches the entered subject names, etc., and subject positions is retrieved. Rather than retrieving an image simply using keywords alone, an image is retrieved utilizing also the positions of subjects. As a result, it is possible to narrow down images found in a case where a desired image is to be retrieved from among a large number of images.

  • Patent number: 7733385
Abstract: First and second data areas are defined in an image file, and each area is defined to have an image data recording area and a header data recording area. When the image file is reproduced, header data in a first header data recording area at the leading end is read and first image data that has been recorded in the first image data recording area is reproduced. If an image file reproducing apparatus is one that can reproduce second image data that has been recorded in the second data area, then the second image data is read from the second area and reproduced. The first image data is data that has undergone JPEG compression, and the second image data is data that has not been compressed. Since the compressed first image data and uncompressed second image data can be stored in one file, an increase in number of files can be reduced even if there is an increase in types of image format.

  • Patent number: 7705887
Abstract: A terminal device 1 including a wireless communication unit 11 is carried by a subject user who will become a subject, and a wireless communication unit 21 for performing directional data communication in an imaging direction is provided in a camera 2. When the terminal device 1 and the camera 2 become able to communicate data each other, the subject user carrying the terminal device 1 is photographed, and image data obtained in this way are transmitted to the terminal device 1. The terminal device 1 displays the image data. If necessary, the subject user issues an instruction to print the image data, and transmits information on the instruction to print to the camera 2. The camera 2 assigns the information on the instruction to print to the image data, and transmits the information on the instruction to print and the image data to an image server 4 and further to a printer 5.

  • Patent number: 7664296
Abstract: An input apparatus reads a patient ID from an ID card and transmits it to a computer. On the basis of the patient ID, the computer obtains corresponding patient information containing a photograph of the patient's face and the patient's name, from a medical database, and then transmits the patient information to the digital camera together with the patient ID. The digital camera displays the patient information to enable confirmation of the patient to be photographed. After the patient has been confirmed, the patient ID is filled in a header part of an image file for the image photographed using the digital camera, and the image file is transmitted to the medical database or the like. Thus, the input of the identification information input before photographing and the subject to be photographed can be easily confirmed.

  • Patent number: 7576779
Abstract: Commands regarding printing of a plurality of types are stored in a non-volatile memory of a digital still camera and in a non-volatile memory of a printer. Print processing is executed by a command-based model with regard to types of printing for which commands are held in common by the digital still camera and printer. With regard to print processing for which the digital still camera does not possess the command, the digital still camera is made to function as a client and the printer as a server, whereby the print processing is executed by a user-interface export model.
