  • Publication number: 20130223202
Abstract: In a photo-detector position adjustment/bonding process, it has been necessary for a worker to hold a dangling photo-detector and plate with a tool such as tweezers, and chuck the photo-detector and plate onto an adjustment jig. Because the chucking onto the adjustment jig is performed by a manual operation, productivity is low and it has been difficult to decrease the process standard time (ST). In order to substantially stabilize the standby position of the photo-detector, a pressing force is provided by the reaction force of a flexible substrate in the direction of an optical pickup, and the contacting surfaces of an optical pickup case and the plate are prevented from sliding and displaced from each other.

  • Publication number: 20130222876
Abstract: A laser light source module includes a housing and a heat sink that is thermally connected to the housing. The housing includes a laser element that emits laser light, a laser holder that is made of metal to hold the laser element, a laser light receiving element that receives laser beam from the laser element, a mirror element that reflects the laser light to scan a screen, an optical element that is disposed on the optical axis of the laser light. The laser holder is thermally connected to the housing with a thermally conductive member. A protrusion is formed on the thermally conductive member. The protrusion and the springiness of the thermally conductive member are used to press the laser holder against the housing in the same direction as the direction of laser light emission.

  • Publication number: 20130194905
Abstract: In an optical pickup for an optical disk device using BD, DVD and CD as recording media, simplification of constitutional elements is promoted. The optical pickup includes a dual wavelength type laser beam source generating laser beams for DVD and CD, a single wavelength type laser beam source generating a laser beam for BD, and a first wave plate converting the laser beam for BD generated from the laser beam source concerned into circular polarization. It further includes a second wave plate converting the laser beam for DVD generated from the dual wavelength type laser beam source into 45-degree linear polarization. Favorable recording and reproduction are performed by radiating the laser beam to the recording medium concerned as the circular polarization for BD and the 45-degree linear polarization for DVD.

  • Publication number: 20130188467
Abstract: An optical pickup which excels in assembly workability and which can increase the drive force generated in a focusing coil is provided. The optical pickup has an objective lens, a lens holder holding the objective lens, and a first and a second focusing coil wound around the lens holder. The first focusing coil includes an upper part wound about a central axis extending in parallel with an optical axis of the objective lens and a lower part connected to the upper part. The second focusing coil includes an upper part wound, in a wiring system separate from the first focusing coil, about a central axis extending in parallel with the optical axis of the objective lens and a lower part connected to the upper part.

  • Publication number: 20130182547
Abstract: When an optical pickup used for an optical disk device is formed, the optical pickup includes a stepping motor which drives a lens used to correct for spherical aberration, and the stepping motor is mounted in such a manner that the stepping motor is exposed at a surface (upper part) where the stepping motor faces the optical disk. In addition, the stepping motor is mounted in such a manner that the stepping motor is exposed at a surface (lower part) opposite the surface where the stepping motor faces the optical disk. Consequently, the optical pickup used for an optical disk device is adapted to cool a built-in stepping motor without using expensive components when the optical pickup is formed, the optical pickup being configured to make the optical pickup itself thinner and making the operation of the stepping motor stable.

  • Publication number: 20130182551
Abstract: When an optical pickup used an optical disk device is formed, a PWB (Printed Wiring Board) which serves as a top cover is used at at least a part of a surface of a housing which houses the optical pickup, the surface facing an optical disk. The PWB (Printed Wiring Board) is adapted to seal components inside the optical pickup, and to reduce the flexure of FPC (Flexible Printed Circuits). Moreover, the printed wiring board is provided with a connector which allows the connection of FPC for connection to circuits outside the optical pickup. Consequently, the slack of the FPC can be eliminated, and optical members provided inside the optical pickup can be protected without using a metal cover.

  • Publication number: 20130135978
Abstract: Disclosed is an optical information reproducing apparatus that has a light path difference between two lights easily adjusted, has a high effect on the amplification of a signal, and detects an optical information signal of an interfering type. The optical information reproducing apparatus splits a luminous flux emitted from a laser source into a first luminous flux as a signal light and a second luminous flux as a reference light not collected on an optical information recoding medium, makes the signal light optically interfere with the reference light in a state in which the signal light and the reference light are different from each other in a phase relationship to thereby produce interfering lights, and detects the interfering lights.
