Abstract: A surface fastener having a first substrate sheet having on its front surface hook-shaped engaging elements and on its rear surface a low-adhesion adhesive double coated tape to an outer surface of which a backing sheet is adhered, and a second substrate sheet having on its front surface loop-shaped engaging elements and on its rear surface an adhesive layer to an outer surface of which a peel paper is adhered. For attaching the surface fastener to a paper diaper, the adhesive layer of the second substrate sheet is adhered to a front covering portion of the diaper, while the adhesive double coated tape of the first substrate sheet is adhered to an attachment strip of a hip covering portion of the diaper after the backing sheet is peeled off.

Abstract: A surface fastener comprising: a substrate sheet; a multiplicity of engaging elements projecting from on surface of the substrate sheet; and an elastic member laying over the one surface of the substrate sheet. The elastic member has an upper surface normally in contact with lower ends of locking portions of the engaging elements so as to support circumferential surfaces of stem portions of the engaging elements. The upper surface of the surface fastener is therefore less rough so that waste pieces of yarn and nap cannot be caught by the locking portions.

Abstract: A pull tab of a slide fastener slider includes a pull tab body formed of extruded thermoplastic synthetic resin having an internal hollow portion extending longitudinally or transversely therethrough, and an uneven outside surface which provides an ornamental function, said pull tab body having flexibility and elasticity an ornamental function by virtue of said hollow portion and the uneven outside surface. The pull tab body may be transparent or semitransparent in which instance an ornamental material is preferably embedded in the pull tab body to improve the aesthetical appearance of the pull tab. The pull tab body may further has a connecting portion at its one end for connection to a slider body, and a grip piece at the opposite end. The thermoplastic synthetic resin may be extrusion-molded to be a continuous blank. The blank is then cut into pull tab bodies of individual product widths. The pull tab with a flexibility and an ornamental function can be mass-produced by extrusion molding at a low cost.

Abstract: A button-substitute fastening device for use with a companion surface fastener member, comprises: a generally-C-cross-section support body molded of thermoplastic synthetic resin and having substantially parallel first and second plates integrally joined at their one ends by a connecting portion; a multiplicity of engaging elements standing upright on an outer surface of the second plate and adapted for engagement with engaging elements of the companion surface fastener member; the first plate having on its outer surface an arbitrary ornamental design; and a pull-up tab integrally projecting outwardly from the connector in parallel to the first and second plates.
