  • Patent number: 4287585
Abstract: An electronic timepiece having a single digital display and being suitable to operate as a standard timekeeping wristwatch or in the alternative as a chronograph. Separate divider circuits are provided for performing the timekeeping and chronograph functions. A single set of switches is provided for controlling the operation of either divider circuit, a single selector circuit selecting which function is to be displayed and which divider is to be controlled by the switches. Indication means are provided for indicating which function is being displayed.

  • Patent number: 4051663
Abstract: An electronic timepiece wherein the period of the timekeeping signal produced by the divider circuit is adjusted in response to an externally applied reference signal is provided. The electronic timepiece includes an oscillator circuit for producing a high frequency time standard signal, a divider circuit including a plurality of series-connected divider stages adapted to produce a low frequency timekeeping signal in response to the time standard signal, and a display for displaying time in response to the timekeeping signal. A receiving circuit receives an externally applied reference signal corresponding to actual time, and a comparator circuit compares the high frequency time standard signal against the reference signal and in response thereto produces a frequency difference signal. A memory circuit is adapted to store the frequency difference signal.

  • Patent number: 4043109
Abstract: An electronic wristwatch having a quartz crystal vibrator serving as a time standard, a display, and an electronic divider circuit for dividing the high frequency signal supplied by the quartz crystal vibrator into a low frequency timekeepng signal and applying same to the display. A quartz crystal oscillator circuit is adapted to be compensated during changes in temperature to stabilize the operation thereof, and a divider regulating circuit is provided selectively to regulate the period of the timekeeping signal produced by the divider circuit. The regulating circuit is completely independent of the quartz crystal oscillator circuit, and regulation of the period of the timing signal has no effect on the operation of the oscillator circuit.
