  • Publication number: 20040035921
Abstract: A data sheet is composed of an upper part and a lower part. The upper part is used as a user interface including a reduced image of contents of a document. The lower part is an interface for a reading device such as a copy machine, including a code obtained by encoding the document. By use of the data sheet, the user can easily distribute or carry an electronic document data with the user. In addition, the user can recognize contents of the electronic document data by looking at the reduced image printed on the data sheet.

  • Publication number: 20040035935
Abstract: A 2-dimensional code reading apparatus includes a code position detector receiving an input image that is formed by optically reading 2-dimensional codes, and extracting a 2-dimensional codes from the input image. A data acquisition unit acquires identification information of a document page and positional information of the 2-dimensional codes on the document page, from the 2-dimensional codes. A data decoder performs decoding of the identification information and the positional information. The code position detector is provided with a code frame detector detecting a code frame which defines a fixed region of the 2-dimensional codes, and determining a dot of a target pixel as being a corner dot of the code frame.

  • Publication number: 20040024847
Abstract: A paper identification information management system includes a client apparatus that handles a sheet of paper bearing prescribed information, and a management server connected to the client apparatus via a network to comprehensively manage information about the paper handled in the client apparatus. The client apparatus transmits a paper ID request and document information to the management server via the network when carrying out a printing operation. Based on the paper ID request and the document information, the management server assigns a paper ID to each sheet of paper handled by the client apparatus. The management server then transmits the paper IDs to the client apparatus, and simultaneously, records the assigned paper IDs in association with the document information.

  • Publication number: 20040004319
Abstract: An ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) for an image processing apparatus of the present invention includes a separating and feeding device for feeding one document from a stack of documents while separating the document from the others. A conveying device temporarily stops the document fed by the separating and feeding device at a position preceding a reading position and again conveys, on the elapse of a preselected period of time, the document toward the reading position. A controller controllably drives the separating and feeding device and conveying device. The controller drives the conveying device by controlling the time interval between the restart of conveyance of the preceding document and the restart of conveyance of the following document.

  • Patent number: 5971388
Abstract: An automatic original document feeding device which can shorten a length of time required for refeeding sheets of the original document after a jamming of a sheet of the original document is cleared. When a trouble signal is received indicating that a sheet of the original document remains within a feed path due to an improper feeding or a jamming before the sheet is completely scanned, a side cover is opened and at the same time a driving mechanism is actuated for automatically lowering the sheets of the original document from a feeding position. If the jamming occurs at a later position in the paper path after the image has been completely scanned, the side cover does not have to be opened, the driving mechanism is not lowered, and the sheets of the original document remain in their feeding position.

  • Patent number: 5654582
Abstract: A semiconductor wafer and semiconductor device manufactured from the wafer. The wafer has a conductive layer 33A intermittently formed in the longitudinal direction of a scribe area 2. The conductive layer's width shorter width than its length and shaped so that the scribe area is cut in the longtitudinal direction including the location of said width. The invention provides a semiconductor wafer not giving rise to faults, such as short-circuiting due to shavings, and not requiring any modification in the scribed width, blade width, or pad size when sawing conductive layers in the scribe area, such as the above-mentioned pads of the TEG.

  • Patent number: 5616019
Abstract: A rolling piston type expansion machine eliminates the need for an open-close valve mechanism and smoothens the timing of inflow of high-pressure gas. The machine includes a cylinder having a discharge port and a roller freely gyratable or orbital in the cylinder. A freely movable blade supported in the cylinder has its tip in contact with the circumferential surface of the roller to form an expansion chamber. A gas passage is freely rotatably supported by a main bearing member and a secondary bearing member. The gas passage is formed in a main shaft having a crank shaft portion that gyrates or orbits the roller. An inlet port is provided along a shaft center of the main shaft. An inflow timing control portion controls inflow timing of the suction gas toward the expansion chamber via the inlet port of the gas passage.
