  • Patent number: 6988059
Abstract: To make it possible to draw a contour of a stereo model arranged in a virtual space, by a simple processing, a contour drawing model is acquired during initialization (at Step S2). This contour drawing model contains a stereo model and has its individual planes reversed from the corresponding planes of the stereo model. In the setting of the state in a virtual space, the contour drawing model is arranged (at Step S3). If the contour is to be drawn for the stereo model (at Step S4), the contour drawing model is drawn (at Step S5). The contour drawing model is perspectively transformed, and only the face with respect to a viewpoint is drawn by erasing a hidden plane. As a result of this hidden plane erasure, the contour drawing model is partially drawn as a contour outside of the stereo model because it is larger than the stereo model. Finally, the stereo model is drawn as usual (at Step S6).

  • Publication number: 20040114167
Abstract: Provided is an image processing method and apparatus in which drawing objects are collected on a group-by-group basis and rendering is switched between YMCK rendering and RGB rendering to thereby raise the image quality of a YMCK output image and mitigate a decline in processing speed. To achieve this, PDL (401) is input to an interpreter (402), which translates the PDL to drawing objects. It is then determined whether the rendering of the drawing objects is to be performed in the RGB format or YMCK format. As a result, drawing objects obtained by translation are rendered in the RGB format by an RGB renderer (407), whereby an RGB image is created, and drawing objects obtained by translation are rendered in the YMCK format by a YMCK renderer (404), whereby a YMCK image is created. The RGB image is color-converted to a YMCK image by color conversion and HT processing (409), and the YMCK image is output together with the YMCK image created by the RGB renderer (404).

  • Patent number: 6549202
Abstract: Method and apparatus for implementing cell-animation-looking colors as an example of non-photo-realistic rendering in three-dimensional model plot processing. Perspective transformations and light source calculations are carried out for a polygon of the three-dimensional model. Then, the luminosity of each apex of the polygon is calculated. In addition, the color for plotting the polygon is calculated for each of the luminosity ranges defined in advance. Alternatively, the colors for plotting may be calculated and stored in advance. Then, one of the luminosity range is selected from the luminosity ranges defined in advance. If the luminosity range of each pixel inside the polygon lies within the luminosity range selected, the pixel is plotted in the color for plotting corresponding to the luminosity range selected. By repeatedly performing these operations, a cell-animation-looking image is generated.

  • Patent number: 5199012
Abstract: The optical recording/reproducing apparatus provided with a dividing optical element which divides a part of the light from a light source and projects the divided light to a moving stage on which an objective lens is mounted, a reflecting optical element which is mounted on the moving stage and reflects the projected light from the dividing optical element, and a photodetector which detects the reflected light from the reflecting optical element, wherein the deviation amount of the moving stage from a reference position is detected on the basis of output of the photodetector. Since the condition when the reflected light is incident upon the photodetector is changed in consequence to the positional deviation of the reflecting optical element as the moving stage is moved, the deviation amount of the moving stage is detected on the basis of the output of the photodetector. The deviation amount of the moving stage can be detected at all times, thereby achieving good tracking control.
