  • Patent number: 4354399
Abstract: A handle bar fixing device for a bicycle, which is used to fix a handle bar to a cylindrical holding portion attached to the utmost end of a lug provided at a handle stem. At the lug is provided a through bore which extends lengthwise of the lug, opens at one end into the holding portion and at the other end onto the stem body, and has a screw thread in part. A control member with two first and second screw threads different in pitch angle and in the direction of screw, is screwed with the through bore by way of the first screw thread. A pusher having a screw member screwable with the second screw thread is supported axially movably only to a first end portion of the through bore opening into the holding portion. The control member is rotated to force the pusher to move lengthwise of the lug so that the handle bar inserted through the holding portion may be fixed thereto.

  • Patent number: 4310260
Abstract: A fixing device for fixing a handle stem to a front fork at a bicycle. A screw thread is provided at the inner periphery of the hollow handle, with which is screwed a handle expander bolt having a rotary control and carrying an expander cone, so that the expander bolt is screwed forward and backward with the thread, thereby moving the expander cone with respect to the handle stem.

  • Patent number: 4274301
Abstract: A handle stem fixing device for a bicycle is described in which a rotary control is provided at the head of a bolt, the head being larger in diameter than the bolt stud or alternatively having a flange, and a socket is provided at a hollow handle stem, into which the head is lodged and a retainer is provided, whereby the retainer substantially blocks the bolt's axial movement and the bolt is screwed to which is forced to be axially movable.

  • Patent number: 4261666
Abstract: A clamp device is described comprising a clamp having a cylindrical portion and a pair of first and second saddles, and a clamping screw bolt, the first saddle having a through hole and the second one having a threaded hole screwable with a screw thread of the bolt, which device is provided at the first saddle with retaining means for retaining the bolt substantially axially fixed and utilizes thrust caused by screwing the bolt with the threaded hole to enlarge easily an interval between the first and second saddles. The device requires no particular tool for effecting clamping.

  • Patent number: 4150859
Abstract: A bicycle chain wheel and crank of three pieces, namely a crank shaft and a pair of crank arms. The crank shaft freely rotatably supports the chain wheel through a cone, so that the crank is easy and inexpensive to manufacture. The crank arms can be of common shape because a chain wheel mounting boss does not have to be formed on the crank arm.
