  • Patent number: 6421316
Abstract: In Network LIJ point-to-multipoint connection, when an endpoint node receives a connection release message caused by a fault of the network from the root terminal side after a leaf initiated connection to a leaf terminal has been established, the leaf initiated connection is maintained and then a second connection request message is sent to the network to wait for a connection message for restoration to be received from the network in response to the second connection request message. A route is switched by connecting the leaf initiated connection to a restored connection determined by the connection message for restoration.

  • Patent number: 6154444
Abstract: In a connection-oriented network, a route table and a network resource table are provided in a source node which updates the network resource table in response to a topology state message which is flooded through the network whenever there is a change in the available network resources. The source node updates the network resource table in response to an early-arriving trouble report message from the network if such a change in the available network resources occurs when a connection is being progressively established or already established from the source node. In response to a connection setup message, the source node fetches a route from the route table and compares a user's requirement such as quality and/or bandwidth with the resource data of the fetched route stored in the network resource table. A connection is established via the fetched route if the resource data of the fetched route in the network resource table indicates that the fetched route can support the requirement.

  • Patent number: 6122753
Abstract: Setting of a bypass path upon occurrence of transmission failure, is applicable for large scale network. A system includes signaling means which makes judgment whether bypassing process is performed by an own node by a bypassing process judgement means when a release message issued upon occurrence of failure, is received. Upon judgment to perform bypassing process, computation of bypass path is requested by the path computing means. On the basis of result of computation, bypass path is established and switched. In the bypassing process judgment means, judgment is made whether bypassing process is performed by the signaling means or not depending upon the relationship of positions of the faulty portion and the own node.

  • Patent number: 6034961
Abstract: In an active/standby routing system for establishing an active route and the corresponding standby route in an ATM network, a node transmits, as a connection signaling message, a connection pair identifier which is unique to a combination of the active and the standby routes together with information which is indicative of either of active and standby routes. The active and the standby routes are quickly switched from one to another even when one of the routes is to be recalculated due to a trouble in the other route. The connection signaling message is transmitted to both the active and the standby routes from the first node. A repeating node receives the message, sets the route indicated by the information indicating an active or standby route in the received message and thereafter transmits the message.
