    Abstract: A valve operating system for a multicylinder engine opens and closes a pair of valves provided on each of cylinders by means of a pair of rocker arms operated by a cam provided on a camshaft supported on a cam holder. When viewed in a direction of a cylinder axis, the pair of rocker arms of at least one of the cylinders are inclined in opposite directions to each other with respect to a direction orthogonal to a camshaft axis. Therefore, thrust loads acting on the camshaft from the pair of rocker arms are counteracted individually for each of the cylinders, thereby enabling the thrust load to be reduced and axial movement of the camshaft to be prevented.

    Abstract: A communication signal suppressing apparatus capable of reducing a load of a firmware using portion is provided in a communication signal apparatus such as a common line signal apparatus. A common line signal processing circuit corresponds to hardware used to execute a portion of the level-2 process operation, and this common line signal processing circuit owns such a function capable of discarding a reception frame having no meaning other than a confirmation response, and also capable of extracting a reverse-direction sequence number thereof. As a result, the common line signal processing circuit performs a remaining level-2 process operation. Thus, since a workload of a processing apparatus (CPU) using the firmware can be reduced, this firmware can be designed with sufficient capacities. Also, other process operations can be carried out by this CPU.

    Abstract: A trunk locked-in person saving apparatus without using a mechanical lever. The trunk locked-in person saving apparatus includes: a pyroelectric sensor for detecting behavior of a person who is accidentally locked in a trunk; a detection apparatus for detecting a fact that a person is locked in the trunk based on a detection signal from the pyroelectric sensor; and a trunk opener for releasing a latch condition of the trunk. When the detection apparatus detects that a person is locked in the trunk, the detection apparatus controls the trunk opener to release the latch condition of the trunk.
