  • Patent number: 11963852
Abstract: In a method and device for manufacturing an absorbent material, the degree of freedom in design can be increased by expanding a modifiable distribution pattern of an SAP and broadening the range in which the performance of the absorbent material can be modified. Pulverized pulp is suctioned in a predetermined pattern to form a pulp layer in which the pulp is fiber-laminated. A first distribution opening through which a first distribution device discharges a first SAP and a second distribution opening through which a second distribution opening discharges a second SAP are provided facing the pulp layer, and the first and second SAPs are distributed onto the pulp layer through the first and second distribution openings while moving the pulp layer relative to the first and second distribution openings. The first and second distribution devices can control the discharge amounts of the first SAP and the second SAP, respectively.

  • Patent number: 9181829
Abstract: An exhaust gas purification device includes an exhaust gas after-treatment device provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine, and has an oxidation catalyst and a DPF or diesel particulate filter. The exhaust gas purification device also includes an exhaust pipe injector which feeds a fuel to the oxidation catalyst, and a control unit which controls regeneration of the filter by supplying the oxidation catalyst with the fuel from the exhaust pipe injector. The control unit determines whether the filter is in a regeneration-possible state, i.e., whether the oxidation catalyst is maintained at a high temperature allowing regeneration of the filter. If the control unit determines during regeneration control of the filter that the filter is not in the regeneration-possible state, then the control unit halts the regeneration control until the regeneration-possible state is reached.

  • Patent number: 9034065
Abstract: A diesel particulate defuser (DPD) for collecting particulate matter (PM) in exhaust gas is connected to an exhaust pipe of a diesel engine, and when the amount of PM in the DPD becomes equal to or greater than a predetermined amount, the exhaust gas temperature of the diesel engine is increased by performing exhaust pipe injection and DPD is automatically regenerated. In such an exhaust gas purification system, an exhaust gas temperature during DPD regeneration in automatic regeneration is detected, a difference between the detected exhaust gas temperature and a target regeneration temperature is determined, and in a case where an exhaust pipe injection amount is PID controlled based on the difference, when a transition is made from the traveling automatic regeneration to the idle automatic regeneration conducted during a stop, an integral control term in the PID control is reset to zero to control the exhaust pipe injection amount.

  • Patent number: 8978363
Abstract: A diesel particulate filter (“DPF”) system that is more convenient than a conventional DPF system, including a DPF having a catalyzed soot filter (“CSF”) that is connected to an exhaust pipe of a diesel engine in order to collect particulate matter (“PM”) in exhaust gas, and a diesel oxidation catalyst (“DOC”) provided on an upstream side of the CSF; and temperature sensors provided respectively on an upstream side and a downstream side of the DOC. When a PM accumulation amount in the CSF exceeds a fixed amount, DPF regeneration is performed by setting a temperature detected by the upstream side temperature sensor at or above a first threshold and setting a temperature detected by the downstream side temperature sensor at or above a second threshold. When a breakdown is detected in the upstream side temperature sensor, the second threshold is modified upward.

  • Patent number: 8646254
Abstract: Forced regeneration start timing of a diesel particulate filter for purifying particulate matter in exhaust gas is judged based on a comparison of a differential pressure across the diesel particulate filter with a predetermined differential pressure threshold across the filter. The predetermined differential pressure threshold is set by multiplying a reference differential pressure threshold by a coefficient which varies stepwise or continuously depending on a mileage of a vehicle after previous forced regeneration. Consequently, particulate matter can be removed by burning while the amount of particulate matter accumulated unevenly in the filter is still small, and excessive temperature rise in the filter resulting from excessive accumulation of particulate matter during forced regeneration and melting-loss of the filter due to excessive temperature rise can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 8316637
Abstract: In emergency regeneration, i.e., after a judgment is made that purification is insufficient after ending forced regeneration, forced regeneration has expired before completion, or when a pressure difference across a diesel particulate filter exceeds a predetermined first judging pressure difference when traveling distance of a vehicle is shorter than a predetermined distance, an alarm for urging manual regeneration is issued. When manual regeneration is designated thereafter by the vehicle's user, manual regeneration is performed. When predetermined conditions are satisfied before receiving a designation of manual regeneration, automatic regeneration is performed.

  • Patent number: 7845165
Abstract: An exhaust emission control system including a continuous regenerating diesel particulate filter (“DPF”) and a DPF controller, wherein a forced regenerator is operated by a driver's request, when it is judged that a traveling distance, after starting particulate matter collection, detected by a traveling distance detector has reached a predetermined judging traveling distance, even when the DPF controller detects that a collection amount detected by a collection amount detector is smaller than a prescribed judging collection amount. Accordingly, in a continuous regenerating DPF capable of manual regenerating, the number of warnings, such as a blinking regeneration button prompting a manual regeneration, is reduced to relieve a driver of annoyance or inconvenience.
