  • Patent number: 5359355
Abstract: A recording head having a plurality of recording elements can operate in a first recording mode for recording a desired image by performing a single scan operation on a predetermined region on a recording medium, and a second recording mode for recording a desired image by recording a thin image a plurality of number of times in a plurality of scan operations on the predetermined region. The scan speed in the second recording mode is set to be higher than that in the first recording mode. For example, when the scan speed in the second recording mode is N times that in the first recording mode, the driving operation of the plurality of recording elements is controlled to obtain a dot pattern in which the minimum dot distance in the scan direction in the second recording mode is N times or more that in the first recording mode. Image quality can be improved without decreasing the throughput.

  • Patent number: 4578978
Abstract: A roll forming apparatus for forming a flat strip material into a channel shape. This apparatus is composed of a first driving station, a second driving station, and at least two forming stations disposed between the both driving stations. Each driving station respectively contains a pair of driving rolls. The driving rolls of the second driving station is thus constructed to pull the strip at the higher speed than those of the first driving station. Therefore, to the portion of the strip between the first and second driving stations is applied a tensile stress while the strip is sent to the second driving station from the first driving station. At least two forming stations are disposed and respectively contain a pair of forming rolls which are rotated by the moving strip. At the same time, the strip is formed by the forming rolls. As the forming roll used in the present apparatus is a driven roll, maintenance such as adjusting the rotating speed of each station is not necessary.

  • Patent number: 4391237
Abstract: An apparatus of the present invention has a first switch for controlling the supply of a first current to each glow plug, a second switch for controlling the supply of a second current being below the first current, preheating means for turning on the first switch for a predetermined time period responsive to the switching of an ignition switch from the OFF position to the ON position, and afterglow means for turning on the second switch to heat each glow plug for a predetermined time period responsive to the switching of the ignition switch from the ST position to the ON position. In the apparatus, the first or the second switch is periodically operated by controlling means to maintain the temperature of each glow plug at a predetermined value. Therefore, it is easy to avoid unnecessary increases in glow plug temperature and to control the temperature of the glow plugs to a predetermined value, the service life of the glow plugs can be extended.
