  • Publication number: 20240067168
Abstract: A vehicle controller includes a processor configured to detect a vehicle ahead of a host vehicle from time-series sensor signals obtained by a sensor provided on the host vehicle for sensing objects around the host vehicle, track the vehicle ahead detected from the time-series sensor signals, determine whether the vehicle ahead has performed an avoidance action, based on the result of tracking, detect, when the vehicle ahead has performed an avoidance action, a trajectory of an edge of the vehicle ahead opposite a direction of avoidance in the avoidance action, and control travel of the host vehicle so that an edge of the host vehicle opposite the direction of avoidance moves along the detected trajectory.

  • Publication number: 20240067171
Abstract: A brake light activation determining device has a processor configured to detect decrease in the speed of a vehicle ahead, which is located ahead of one's own vehicle, based on output information from a sensor that acquires information relating to the vehicle ahead, to discriminate whether the brake light of the vehicle ahead is activated based on an image representing the vehicle ahead, and to determine that the vehicle ahead is braking, when it has been discriminated that the brake light of the vehicle ahead has been activated, when the speed decrease timing at which reduction in the speed of the vehicle ahead has been detected and the activation timing at which brake light activation by the vehicle ahead was discriminated are synchronized for the vehicle ahead.

  • Publication number: 20240071097
Abstract: An apparatus for object detection detects a number of lanes included in a road on which a vehicle is traveling, detects one or more surrounding vehicles positioned in surroundings of the vehicle from a surrounding image showing the surroundings of the vehicle generated by a camera mounted in the vehicle, and determines, when more surrounding vehicles than the number of lanes detected in a predetermined range at the back of the vehicle are detected alongside in a width direction of the vehicle, that a possibility that any one of the surrounding vehicles being an emergency vehicle which is allowed to travel without obeying the traveling rule of the road is higher than when more surrounding vehicles than the number of lanes are not detected alongside in a width direction of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6618917
Abstract: A headstock 10 having a chuck 12 and a tailstock 20 having a shaft 21 are mounted on a bed 1 and can move with respect to each other in the direction of the Z-axis, A carriage 50 is slidably mounted on the bad 1 and can move in the Z-axis direction with respect to the rotational axis of a spindle 11. A turning device (lathe tool) 30 is provided to perform a turning operation on a workpiece and a gear cutting device 40 is provided to perform a gear cutting on the workpiece. The turning device 30 and the gear cutting device are preferably slidably mounted on the carriage 50 in a side-by-side relationship. The turning device 30 and the gear cutting device 40 may have respective traverse slide bases 31 and 41. The traverse slide bases 31 and 41 are mounted on the carriage 50 and can move independently in the direction of the X-axis perpendicular to the axis of the spindle 11, i.e. in a traverse sliding direction.

  • Patent number: 4296276
Abstract: A synthetic resin insulator comprising a fiber-reinforced plastic rod, metal fittings which hold both ends of the fiber-reinforced plastic rod, and a seamless unitary overcoat which consists of an elastic insulating material. The overcoat covers that part of the surface of the fiber-reinforced plastic rod located between the metal fittings. The external surface of the overcoat is formed into a plurality of sheds, and the metal fittings have metal sleeves pressed onto the end portions of the overcoat, so that those end portions are sandwiched between the metal sleeves and the fiber reinforced plastic rod. The elongation of the outer surface of the overcoat resulting from assembly with the fiber-reinforced plastic rod and pressing of the sleeves is not higher than 2%.
