    Abstract: A semiconductor device having an input terminal and an output terminal includes at least one high power device for supplying output current as an output section, and over-current limiting circuits, each including a over-current detection circuit, for limiting the amount of each current flowing through a plurality of bonding wires by which the output terminal is connected to an external terminal, to a current value of a desired amount or less. Thereby, an over-current condition where the current value is over an allowable current value, is avoided and blowing the bonding wire of the device can be prevented.

A positive peak P+ and a negative peak P- of the obtained f.sub.a (t) is detected to display the average value of these as a frequency deviation.

    Abstract: A detector circuit for detecting abnormalities in the oscillation frequency of a clock signal, includes a counter and a comparator. The counter is supplied with a reference clock signal, and counts the number of pulses of the reference clock signal to output a signal indicative of the count value. In response to the clock signal, the counter clears the count value. The comparator compares the count value of the counter with a specified value stored in its register, and generates a detection signal indicating whether the frequency of the clock signal is within expected limits, based on the comparison result.

    Abstract: An internal combustion engine includes a valve operating device operatively connected to a pair of intake valves and capable of opening and closing one of the intake valves in accordance with the operating condition of the engine and opening and closing the other intake valve in a small lift amount, thereby producing a deflection of the intake air drawn into the combustion chamber, and a fuel injection valve for injecting a fuel toward the pair of intake valve bores that are independently opened and closed by the intake valves, respectively. The timing of the opening and closing of the intake valve that is opened and closed only in the small lift amount is set at a time point such that the lift amount is maximized in the first half of the intake stroke of the piston. This promotes the atomization of the fuel which is being drawn in with the intake air by the opening of the intake valve opened and closed in the small lift amount, and to enhance the combustibility in the combustion chamber.

    Abstract: A waste paper processing system includes an upper shredding portion and a lower compressing portion. The shredding portion includes to horizontally parallel shafts mounting thereon a plurality of circular blades. The shafts are rotated to spin outwardly of a space between the shafts from a paper feeding direction. Presser arms are provided for retaining paper from above during shredding and stopper arms and a filter portion are provided below the blades to assure the paper is shredded sufficiently. After shredding the paper falls into a hopper and is introduced via a rotor to the compression portion. In the compression portion a screw is rotated for urging the shredded paper into a compression tube the tube as a narrower portion at the lower end for assuring sufficient compression of the shredded paper. In addition, water is added to the shredded paper in the upper side of the compression tube for binding the shredded paper together as pulp.

The take-up reel hub is provided with annular flanges, and the brake mechanisms include abutments which selectively prevent locking pawls from moving into a space between the flanges. An oblique actuating surface is provided for contacting a brake releasing pin. The mechanisms further include an inspection and adjustment slot as well as a cam engageable by the supply reel hub for temporarily releasing the supply reel hub when the supply reel hub is lifted.

    Abstract: A cassette has supply and take up reels with corresponding annular gears thereon. A pivotally mounted driving brake arm has an intermediately positioned pawl engaging the take up reel gear. An end of the driving brake arm is spaced from a coacting end of a pivotally mounted driven brake arm. An opposite end of the driven brake arm has a pawl for engaging the gear of the supply reel. When the tape is slack, the tape up reel incrementally rotates to tighten it, causing the take up reel pawl to incremental ratchet over the mating gear. This causes the driving arm to rotate and displace its end into abutting relation with the coacting end of the driven arm. Consequently, the ratchet of the driven brake arm rotates and its corresponding pawl disengages from the supply reel gear to allow the supply reel to incrementally pay out a length of tape sufficient to prevent overtightening.

    Abstract: Continuous agglomeration of an absorbent resin powder is accomplished by a method which comprises introducing the absorbent resin powder into a cylindrical member having an open lower end by means of a current of air through a dispersing member disposed in the upper part of the cylindrical member and, at the same time, spraying minute droplets of an aqueous liquid downwardly through a nozzle disposed inside the dispersing member thereby establishing mutual parallel flow contact between the absorbent resin powder descending toward the lower part of the cylindrical member as dispersed with the current of air and the liquid droplets descending toward the lower part of the cylindrical member as diffused in the radial direction, and removing the produced agglomerate having a plurality of particles of the absorbent resin powder cohesively united through the medium of the liquid droplets via the lower part of the cylindrical member. An apparatus for working the method is also disclosed.
