  • Patent number: 6395360
Abstract: Provided is a release liner formed of a plastic film having a laminated structure of at least three layers, described specifically, as two surface layers, (A) a release functioning layer composed of a polyethylene film having a density of 0.88 to 0.92 g/cm3 and a melt index not greater than 10 g/10 minutes and (B) a surface film layer having a thermal linear expansion coefficient similar to that of said release functioning layer and, as an intermediate layer, (C) a reinforcement layer having a melting point not less than 120° C. By forming a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the surface of the release functioning layer (A) of the above-described release liner, a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet can be obtained. The release liner exhibits good release function without using a silicone-base releasing agent and has heat resistance sufficient for not causing deformation such as curl even when heat is applied to the liner.

  • Patent number: 5978353
Abstract: A service-system low-speed interface unit and a protection-system low-speed interface unit are each provided with an optical transmitting/receiving module adapted to communicate signals with a main terminal. The protection-system low-speed interface unit is provided with another optical transmitting/receiving module for communicating signals with a part-time terminal. This module is selectable by a changeover switch in the protection-system low-speed interface unit. The connected configuration in the service system and the protection system is changed to allow the main terminal to make communications using either the service system or the protection system. If the main terminal makes normal communications using the service system, the part-time terminal will be allowed to make communications using the protection system by selecting the optical transmitting/receiving module for the part-time terminal with the changeover switch in the protection-system low-speed interface unit.

  • Patent number: 5739943
Abstract: Light beams emitted from an optical fiber are converted into parallel light beams by a lens, and then allowed to pass through a Faraday device, followed by being converged to an incident end of the optical fiber by a lens. The Faraday device is applied with a magnetic field in a direction of the optical axis thereof from a coil. Moreover, the Faraday device is applied with a magnetic field in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis by a pair of magnets. When an electric current flowing in a coil 74 is changed from I to -I, the direction of a synthesized magnetic field can be rotated. Therefore, by arbitrarily changing the electric current flowing in the coil, polarization of transmission light can be controlled.
