Abstract: A rolling unit for a filler rod includes a rolling drum that has an outer peripheral surface for holding chip paper and a continuous body and transfers the chip paper and the continuous body in the circumferential direction of the outer peripheral surface; and a rolling block that has a rolling surface facing the outer peripheral surface of the rolling drum, forms a rolling gap between the rolling surface and the outer peripheral surface of the rolling drum, and winds the chip paper around the continuous body by rolling the continuous body while interposing the continuous body in the rolling gap as the rolling drum rotates. A plurality of block-side suction holes is opened on the rolling surface of the rolling block, and the rolling gap is suctioned via the block side suction holes.

Abstract: The present invention provides an innovative method for manufacturing a flavor inhaler cartridge and an innovative cooling unit used in a flavor inhaler cartridge. A method for manufacturing a flavor inhaler cartridge includes feeding a cooling unit sheet used as a material of a cooling unit, cutting the cooling unit sheet along a second direction perpendicular to a first direction in which a plurality of ridge portions extends and cutting the cooling unit sheet along the first direction so as to separate the cooling unit sheet at a predetermined interval in the second direction, spacing at least two cooling units adjacent in the first direction, which are generated from the cut cooling unit sheet, apart from each other in the first direction, and disposing the flavor source between the at least two cooling units.

Abstract: Provided are a cartridge and a flavor inhaler with new structures. A flavor inhaler cartridge includes: a raw material portion that is heated and thereby generates aerosols; and a case that accommodates the raw material portion therein. The case includes a first wall, a second wall that faces the first wall, a pair of connecting walls that connect the first wall to the second wall, a first end surface that is provided with a first opening defined by the first wall, the second wall, and the pair of connecting walls, and a second end surface that faces the first end surface portion. The pair of connecting walls include, on surfaces facing inside of the case, a plurality of half-cuts or debosses extending between the first end surface and the second end surface, and are folded along the plurality of half-cuts or debosses.

Abstract: A filter for a tobacco product provided with a through hole along the axial direction, including a slit on a circumference of the filter along a circumferential direction, wherein a cross-sectional area of the through hole is changed by twisting both sides in the axial direction of the filter in relatively opposite directions along the circumferential direction with the slit as a boundary. A tobacco product further has the above filter, tip paper that wraps at least a part of the filter; and a tobacco rod including shredded tobacco and connected to the filter through the tip paper.

Abstract: A blank forming step for forming a sheet-shaped resin blank able to be formed into a box by folding and bending, and a score line forming step of forming score lines in score line forming areas of the blank which are to be bent to form outer edges of the box, to extend in the direction in which the outer edges should extend. In the score line forming step, the score lines are formed in a manner causing grooves to be produced on the back side of each score line forming area, along the score lines, through plastic deformation. The blank therefore does not undergo tensile stress pulling on the blank to either side of each groove, and thus, does not undergo warping as a whole. The blank thus retains its sheet shape and can be steadily supplied to a packaging machine.

Abstract: A hinge-lid type package for containing an inner pack (IP) of filter cigarettes has an outer body (10), a lid (12) for opening and closing an upper opening end (26) of the outer body (10), and a pair of connector tabs (36) connected to the upper opening end (26) through a breaking line (38). When the package is produced, the connector tabs (36) enter the lid (12) to be adhered to the inner surface of the lid (12). When the connector tabs (36) are broken along the breaking line (38), the connector tabs (36) leave breaking traces (X) in both the outer body (10) and the lid (12).

Abstract: A tongue-lid cigarette pack comprises a box part (2) of a parallelepiped shape, and a tongue lid (4) for opening and closing an open end (6) of the box part (2). On lateral edges (40) of the box part (2), chamfered edges (42) extending from a bottom wall (38) of the box part (2) over a specified length are formed. The chamfered edges (42) have a width ranging between 0.8 mm and 2 mm.

When detached from the outer body 10 along the separating line 14, the lid 12 is rotated around a self hinge 16 to open or close.

Minute gaps s are formed between the rotary column 10 of the polishing mechanism 3 and the stack 1 of semiconductor wafers 4, and polishing solution is drawn into these minute gaps s. The peripheral edges of the semiconductor wafers 4 are polished by means of contactless polishing, using polishing abrasive particles included in polishing solution.

Abstract: A hinged-lid pack for filter cigarettes comprises a box-shaped body and a box-shaped lid. When the lid is shut down, an inner frame that forms a part of the body is covered by the lid. The inner frame includes a raised lug, and an inner front flap of the lid includes an engaging portion that engages the lug. When the lid is on, the engaging portion adjoins the distal end of the lug. When the lid in this state is rocked slightly in the opening direction, the distal end of the lug is held between the engaging portion and the inner surface of the lid.

Abstract: A tongue lid pack includes a body containing a packing article of filter cigarettes, and a cutting line is formed on the front wall of the body. A tongue lid is hingedly connected to the opening end of the body, and the tongue lid has a lid portion for closing and opening the opening end and a tongue extending from the lid portion and a bent tip. When the tongue lid is closed, the bent tip of the tongue is inserted through the cutting line of the front wall. Also, a blank for the tongue lid pack and a method for folding the blank are disclosed.
