Abstract: In the light control device according to one mode of the present invention, a plurality of liquid crystal optical elements are arrayed between two transparent plates having a curved surface, and the liquid crystal optical elements are bonded to a first transparent plate 11 by a gel, elastic, transparent resin layer. The liquid crystal optical elements and the second transparent plate have a sealed space formed therebetween. By using the gel, elastic, transparent resin layer to fix only one side of each of the liquid crystal optical elements to the first transparent plate, the liquid crystal optical elements are fixed to the curved surface of the first transparent plate, and a stress is prevented from being transmitted to the liquid crystal optical elements.

Abstract: An aspect of a public display device includes a transparent front plate 210, a rear frame 220 and a display panel 230. The rear frame 220 is configured to have a waterproof structure, and the transparent front plate and the rear frame are sealed with a silicone resin interposed therebetween so as to have a waterproof property. A transparent gel-like resin layer 250 is formed between a rear side of the transparent front plate and a front side of the display panel. The transparent gel-like resin layer reduces a stress, which is applied to the display panel by deformation of the transparent front plate. Thus, it is possible to prevent a display state from being changed by an external force when a memory type liquid crystal display device is used.

Abstract: An information display comprises a planar electrical optical element including a plurality of pixels, each of the pixels having an optical state controlled by an electrical signal; the optical element having at least two optical states of a light scattering state and a light transmissive state, each of the pixels having the optical state reversibly changed between the scattering state and the light transmissive state; information being displayed in a planar fashion by combining the optical states of pixels; and the information being capable to be held with no electrical signal applied, and visible light having a transmittance of 60% or higher when the visible light passes from one of surfaces of the electrical optical element to the other surface through a pixel in the light transmissive state.
