    Abstract: This invention discloses an optical burst transmission system in which an optical generator generates Type 1 lightwaves having different wavelengths corresponding to transmission lines and having undergone intensity modulation with obtained data; a broad spectrum optical generator generates, by incorporating Type 2 lightwaves, a Type 3 lightwave using a fewer light emitting devices than the number of the Type 1 lightwaves, each Type 2 lightwaves having a corresponding wavelength apart from Type 1 lightwave's wavelength with an FSR interval and having undergone the intensity modulation with clock signals; an optical multiplexer multiplexes the Type 1 and Type 3 lightwaves to output the combination to each transmission line; and an optical routing unit extracts, from the combination, pairs of one Type 1 lightwave and one Type 2 lightwave having the corresponding wavelength, and guides pairs to each transmission line corresponding to the Type 1 lightwave's wavelength in each pair.

    Abstract: An alarm masking system is provided which is capable of implementing alarm priority processing or alarm inhibit processing in ATM transmission equipment. In ATM transmission equipment, a received virtual path or virtual channel is switched by means of a switching unit and then sent to an interface unit. In doing this, if a higher priority alarm is detected or received at a reception side interface unit, an intra-office tag is added to the alarm cell and then it is output, so that by detecting this intra-office tag it is possible to inhibit generation of lower priority alarms in response to the higher order alarm.

    Abstract: In a duplicate active-standby memory unit arrangement, a resynchronization initiation determination is made on a cell-interval-by-cell-interval basis based on the equality of cell contents of corresponding queues in the active and standby memory units. If an inequality of the cell contents of the corresponding queues in the active and standby memory units occurs during any cell interval, resynchronization may be initiated. In an exemplary embodiment of the invention, the lengths of data in corresponding queues, i.e., the number of cells stored in the corresponding queues, in the active and standby memory units are compared on a cell-interval-by-cell-interval basis. If the number of cells stored in any of the queues is different than the number of cells its corresponding queue in the other of the memory units during any cell interval, resynchronization of the memory units is initiated.

    Abstract: A system for monitoring power, particularly a power distribution, of a nuclear reactor includes a plurality of neutron flux measuring units disposed in a core of the nuclear reactor for measuring neutron flux in the core and generating neutron flux signals. A unit, generally constructed by a process computer, for calculating a neutron flux distribution in the core in response to the neutron flux detection signals from the neutron flux measuring units, is provided. A unit for calculating a higher mode of the neutron flux distribution in accordance with results of calculations performed by the neutron flux distribution calculating unit, is provided. A filter calculating unit is provided for obtaining a filter for extracting characteristics of change of the neutron flux detection signal in response to the neutron flux detection signal and an input/output unit for transmitting the neutron flux detection signal filtered by the filter obtained by the filter calculating unit.
