  • Publication number: 20100241715
Abstract: A method of realizing uniqueness assurance includes: selecting a server to which a first message is to be transferred from multiple servers and transferring the first message to the selected server when the first message is received from a terminal apparatus by a load sharing apparatus; storing a second message that should be transferred to the same server as that of the first server when the second message is received from the terminal apparatus by the load sharing apparatus after the first message is transferred; generating uniqueness assurance information corresponding to the communication protocols corresponding to a session generated by the server to which the first message is transferred, the uniqueness assurance information indicating the correspondence between the session and the message corresponding to the session; and transferring the second message in accordance with the generated uniqueness assurance information if the stored second message exits.

  • Publication number: 20100088417
Abstract: One system distributes a request for providing a service using a first communication protocol, from a terminal device to a server selected from among a plurality of servers by a server load balancer in response to the request. A corresponding relation between identification information for identifying a session generated in a distributed server and the server that has generated the session corresponding to the identification information is set in the server load balancer by the service of a second communication protocol as uniqueness assurance information for uniqueness assurance. Thus, when the provision of a service is requested using a second communication protocol by the terminal device, the server load balancer refers to the set uniqueness assurance information and selects the server for providing the service from among the plurality of servers.

  • Patent number: 7664945
Abstract: In investigating the cause of a fault in a computer storage system, it is considered useful to previously prepare maintenance logical units (LUs) of a simple structure, the operation of which has been confirmed. If the same number of LUs as servers are prepared for each server as in the prior art, the efficiency is low. Furthermore, securing these LUs complicates assignment of the LUs for construction of a system and a work for addressing the fault. The present invention provides a computer system free of these problems. The computer system has a first computer for executing a first OS (operating system), a second computer for executing a second OS, and a storage array system. The storage array system uses a disk device having a logical unit (LU) for storing a boot loader, as well as the first and second OSes. The boot loader is executed on any one of the two computers, reads in any of the OSes corresponding to the currently operating computer into this operating computer, and executes the read OS.

  • Publication number: 20100031258
Abstract: In a control method of a virtual machine system, when a virtual machine operating in a physical machine is transferred to another physical machine, a management server stops the virtual machine of transfer source and defines a virtual machine of transfer destination in the other physical machine. A virtual network address and a virtual storage interface address of the virtual machine of transfer source is exchanged with a virtual network address and a virtual storage interface address defined in the virtual machine of transfer destination in the state that the virtual machine is prevented from being activated and then prevention of activation of the virtual machine of transfer destination is canceled, so that transfer processing can be made safely by simple procedure.

  • Patent number: 7636051
Abstract: A statistical value update unit calculates the fluctuation of measurement data. A filtering processing unit extracts a normal white noise component from the fluctuation of the measurement data using an adaptive lattice filter. A statistical test unit determines whether or not the variance of the normal white noise component is out of a predetermined scope in reference distribution. A change decision unit detects a stationary change of the status of a target system based on a detection ratio of an outlier.

  • Publication number: 20090300182
Abstract: An event controller is caused to function as a receiving unit, a request unit, and a transfer unit. The receiving unit receives an event notification request containing designation information designating a client. The request unit requests notification of one of a plurality of servers as an assignment destination server, based on the designation information, the one providing a service to the client identified by the designation information. The transfer unit transfers the event notification request to the assignment destination server notified in response to the request by the request unit.

  • Patent number: 7587634
Abstract: A network fault diagnostic device is configured in the following manner. A causal relation table stores causal relations between faults and events, and a monitor event selector refers to the causal relation table to extract a minimum event required for identifying a fault, and sets the event as a monitor event. The acquisition-event selector selects events from the causal relation table based on latest fault candidates, and sets priorities of the events selected, in the order of efficiently identifying faults. The event acquiring unit requests events in the order of the priorities set, and the event receiving unit receives each event in response to the respective requests. The fault determining unit narrows down the candidates of the fault based on the events received one by one.

  • Publication number: 20080308399
Abstract: A switch (50) is adapted to be On when a contact point (52) is at a position to be in contact with a cam surface (47) and Off when the contact point (52) is at a position corresponding to a non-cam surface (48). In the vicinity of the non-cam surface (48) of the cam surface (47), a rib (49) is provided which changes a direction of the contact point (52) when reciprocation of the cam member (43) is changed. Accordingly, even when the switch (50) comes into contact with the cam member (43) moving in a different direction, the direction of the contact point (52) is changed so as to be the same. Hence, the switch (50) is prevented from being affected by a hysteresis caused by difference in directions of the contact point (52).

  • Publication number: 20080222632
Abstract: A virtual machine system in which a physical CPU busy ratio can be measured in consideration of the status of an assignment of the physical CPU, and the measured CPU busy ratio can be reflected to a CPU busy ratio of each guest OS. An elapsed time counter is provided in a hypervisor, and a hypervisor access interface is provided in each of LPARs and used to read the elapsed time counter from the guest OS. A performance monitor program running on each guest OS calculates, based on a value of the elapsed time counter, the number of sampling timings expected to occur during the time when the physical CPU is not assigned to the LPAR in which the performance monitor program is provided.
