  • Publication number: 20040113620
Abstract: An MRI apparatus having an open structure includes a static magnetic field generating magnet including magnetic field generating sources arranged above and below an imaging space and magnetic field fluctuation reducing plates arranged inside the magnet. Gradient magnetic field coils are fixed to the static magnetic field generating magnet so as to not be in contact with the magnetic field fluctuation reducing plates. When the strength of the magnetic field generated by the static magnetic field generating magnet fluctuates due to vibration of the gradient magnetic field coils or other devices during an imaging operation of the MRI apparatus, an eddy current is generated on the magnetic field fluctuation reducing plates in response to the magnetic field fluctuation components. Magnetic flux which cancels the static magnetic field fluctuation components is generated due to this eddy current, and consequently, a time-sequentially stable static magnetic field can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20030165127
Abstract: A destination station 3 in a wireless communication system for a multi-hop connection selects a transmission path having a minimum total of required transmission power values of respective stations on the transmission path among candidates of the transmission path from a source station 1 to the destination station 3 and transmits a pilot signal to the source station 1 and a relay station 2, the pilot signal including identification information about the respective stations on the selected transmission path and required transmission power values thereof. Thus, the source station 1 and the relay station 2, which have received this pilot signal, can determine the transmission path having the minimum total of the required transmission power values by use of the identification information included in the received pilot signal.

  • Publication number: 20030125067
Abstract: The object is to control interference in a permissible range by applying the CDMA system to signal collision in the conventional CSMA and TDMA base multihop systems and to relax the hidden terminal problem and others to enhance the throughput of the entire system by grouping of channel groups in multihop transmission and by control of transmission based on an interference level from another station. A multihop relay station calculates a desired signal level, for example, from an interference level at its own station of a packet sent from a mobile station, and notifies the mobile station of the desired signal level; and the mobile station calculates a transmission power amount of a packet from the desired signal level, determines whether the packet is transmissible to the station as a source of the desired signal level, on the basis of the transmission power amount, and transmits the packet by a power of the transmission power amount to the source station determined as a packet-transmissible station.

  • Patent number: 6582047
Abstract: A printing apparatus which uses a printing medium, which can retain a large amount of coloring material near its surface and can cause ink solvent to permeate rapidly, and can perform printing in a printing mode that is suitable for the above-mentioned printing medium, is provided. Furthermore, a user friendly printing apparatus is realized. More specifically, the printing mode for the above-mentioned printing medium is a mode that uses less ink ejection per one pixel. Even in this case, high speed printing based on printing of sufficient density and high ink absorption become possible. Furthermore, even in the case printing is made on ordinary paper, a lesser ink ejection amount in the same printing mode is performed, but since this printing mode uses processing liquid that makes the ink insoluble, in a similar way, printing of sufficient density and high speed printing becomes possible.

  • Publication number: 20030003937
Abstract: A mobile station is configured to measure receiving qualities of respective signals from a first antenna and a second antenna of a base station (S3, S5), store the results of the measurement, and request the base station to retransmit a signal from an antenna with a higher receiving quality, based on the stored measurement results, when an error is detected in received data thereafter (S10, S11, S12). The base station retransmits the data, using the antenna with the higher receiving quality (i.e., a base station antenna to yield the higher receiving quality at the mobile station) (S15). In another aspect, the mobile station measures a receiving quality of a signal and notifies the base station of the receiving quality. The base station selects a radio channel adapted to a receiving quality on the basis of the measurement result and transmits a signal, using the radio channel.
