  • Patent number: 7463816
Abstract: The present invention is a method for enhancing image resolution. A high-resolution image is decomposed into plural primary image data with DVD/SVCD/VCD standard image resolution and then these plural primary image data are stored in plural user data format or secondary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. Next, the average value of pixels at the same positions of the plural primary image data is calculated and secondary image data are formed. Finally, the secondary image data are stored in a video-audio data format or a primary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. In order to play the high-resolution image data carrier, the plural primary image data is combined and restored to form a high-resolution image, hence achieving the goal of enhancing the image resolution of DVD/SVCD/VCD.

  • Patent number: 7110046
Abstract: A method for dynamically adjusting video brightness performs histogram equalization on a video YUV brightness/color signal to generate an equalization brightness curve. The brightness of each pixel is compared with every pixel of the video frame before and after histogram equalization to generate a comparison difference value. The brightness of the pixel is adjusted so that the brightness difference after adjustment won't be larger than three times of the comparison difference value and won't be smaller than a fourth of the comparison difference value. The brightness of each pixel before and after histogram equalization is compared, one by one, to generate a brightness difference value. The brightness difference value is adjusted so that the brightness difference after adjustment won't be larger than a largest brightness value and won't be smaller than a smallest brightness value. The brightness of each video frame can be properly adjusted to accomplish clearer displaying effect.

  • Publication number: 20060107288
Abstract: A method for weeding out commercials by searching for the existence of key segments at the time the commercials are going to interrupt and resume a main program is provided. The method includes steps of receiving an input source, searching for a program interruption section and a program resumption section in the input source, marking a plurality of key segments in the input source corresponding to the program interruption section and the program resumption section, and finding a plurality of commercials between the key segments. Therefore, similar key segments can be automatically or manually searched so as to filter commercials in the program.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for enhancing image resolution. A high-resolution image is decomposed into plural primary image data with DVD/SVCD/VCD standard image resolution and then these plural primary image data are stored in plural user data format or secondary viewing angle data format of DVD/NVCD/SVCD image data carrier. Next, the average value of pixels at the same positions of the plural primary image data is calculated and secondary image data are formed. Finally, the secondary image data are stored in a video-audio data format or a primary viewing angle data format of DVD/VCD/SVCD image data carrier. • Publication number: 20050062713
Abstract: A power-saving method for video-broadcasting system in liquid crystal display (LCD) equipment. The present invention utilizes programming to control the power supply of the back light source and the power supply of electrode plates, which can decrease the overall power consumption of LCD without affecting its video-broadcasting quality.
