  • Publication number: 20250296862
Abstract: Provided is an ultra-high-concentration seawater desalination process for valuable mineral recovery and high-purity freshwater production. The process includes introducing seawater through a seawater inlet; performing pre-treatment by deaerating the introduced seawater; introducing the pretreated seawater into a seawater concentrator; introducing the seawater concentrated in the seawater concentrator into a concentrated water crystallizer to extract/recover solids (valuable mineral salts); re-introducing the concentrated water produced in the concentrated water crystallizer into the seawater concentrator; and subjecting distilled water discharged from the seawater concentrator to electrolysis treatment (water electrolysis) to produce hydrogen (H2).

  • Patent number: 12049410
Abstract: This application relates to an adsorption desalination system using a multi-effect evaporator apparatus. In one aspect, the system includes a multi-effect evaporator apparatus producing high-pressure vapor and low-pressure vapor, a plurality of reaction units including an adsorbent adsorbing or desorbing moisture from the high-pressure vapor and low-pressure vapor and a heat exchange tube transferring heat to the adsorbent. The system may also include a condenser condensing vapor containing moisture desorbed from the adsorbents, and cold-hot water lines selectively supplying chilled water and hot water to the heat exchange tubes. The system may further include vapor lines connecting the multi-effect evaporator apparatus and the reaction units, and the reaction units and the condenser, respectively, valves disposed in the vapor lines, and a valve controller controlling operation of the valves to selectively supply chilled water or hot water supplied to the heat exchange tubes from the cold-hot water lines.

  • Publication number: 20240002257
Abstract: Proposed is a complex system of offshore wind power generation, seawater desalination, and water electrolysis. The system may include a wind power generator which generates electric power in such a manner that blades are rotated by wind power. The wind power generator may include a cooler for preventing a overheating phenomenon caused by electric power generation. The system may also include a seawater desalination apparatus which desalinates seawater by using hot water discharged after heat exchange through the cooler. The system may further include a water electrolysis apparatus which receives fresh water produced by the desalination apparatus and a heat source discharged therefrom to use the fresh water and heat source for producing hydrogen. A part of a heat source discharged from the water electrolysis apparatus after the production of hydrogen may be heat-exchanged with the cooler, and heat-exchanged with the heat source discharged from the desalination apparatus.
