  • Patent number: 9035967
Abstract: A method (1500) and electronic device (100) for enhancing scrolling operations along a display (101) is disclosed. The method (1500) includes detecting (1501) that an event has occurred, altering (1502) the presentation of data elements (601,602) by introducing visible spatial separation (603) between the adjacent data elements (601,602) in response to detecting (1501) the event. Once the event has occurred, the spatial separation (603) can be removed. Where the event is reaching the end (701) of a list (502) in a scrolling operation, the method (1500) can include determining the list (502) is reaching the end (701) during the scrolling operation, introducing visible spatial separation (603), and removing the visible spatial separation (603) after the end (701) of the list (502) is reached.

  • Patent number: 8984057
Abstract: In one embodiment, the methods and apparatuses detect an active device configured to utilize content; identify the content and a current location of the content; detect an idle device configured to selectively deliver the content; detect a transition parameter for determining a transition to the idle device; and transition the content from the active device to the idle device wherein the idle device is capable of utilizing the content based on the transition parameter.

  • Publication number: 20130265243
Abstract: Adaptive power adjustment for a touch screen. A first level of voltage can be selectively applied to at least a first portion of a plurality of touch sensors of the touchscreen. A second level of voltage can be selectively applied to at least a second portion of the plurality of touch sensors, wherein the second level of voltage is lower than the first level of voltage and greater than 0 volts, or the second portion of the plurality of touch sensors can be deactivated.

  • Patent number: 7099676
Abstract: A method and system for determining location and/or motion for one or more wireless devices communicating at short range (i.e. less than about 30 feet) with other wireless devices on a wireless network. Signal strength measurements are passed within communication frames between wireless devices which can be used to represent an inverse of the distance, wherefrom a distance vector is determined between wireless devices. Using multiple distance vectors from multiple wireless network devices, a 2-D or 3-D coordinate representation for position of each wireless network in 2-D or 3-D space can be calculated. These coordinates can be utilized for determining the precise traveled position of a specific wireless network device in motion and for establishing a motion sensing system. The motion sensing system can be configured as input to a user interface to control devices and systems which integrated within or connected to devices communicating on the wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20050231475
Abstract: An apparatus for interfacing with a user includes both a joystick and a joy pad. The joystick provides one type of input from the user to a computer program. Moreover, the joy pad is disposed in close proximity to the joystick and provides another type of input from the user to the computer program. The digital joy pad has one or more discrete inputs. The joystick extends upward vertically from a center of the joy pad. The joystick may include a circular top with a beveled edge. The joystick top has a radius that extends almost to a beginning of the one or more discrete inputs of the joy pad, whereby a user can move the joy stick and depress one input of the digital joy pad with a single digit. Thus, by placing the joystick and the joy pad in close proximity to each other, both can be activated by a single user's digit.
