Abstract: Disclosed is a method for receiving a multimedia message in a wireless terminal, the method including setting reception reservation information (multimedia message reception reservation information) of the multimedia message; when basic information of the multimedia message is received, analyzing the basic information of the multimedia message; comparing the basic information of the multimedia message with the set multimedia message reception reservation information; and if the basic information of the multimedia message is in accordance with the set multimedia message reception reservation information, receiving the multimedia message.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for preventing multimedia message retrieval in a mobile communication system. It is determined if a message indicating an elapse of an expiration time of a multimedia message is received from an multimedia message service center (MMSC), and disables a retrieval process for a multimedia message the expiration time of which has elapsed, when the message indicating the elapse of the expiration time is received.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for synchronizing data between a terminal and a server. The apparatus synchronizes presence attribute data when the terminal and the server are connected to each other to establish a messenger service between them. The client terminal requests presence attribute data to be updated from a server when it is reconnected to the server having been previously connected to the client terminal to perform the messenger service, and updates presence attribute data stored at a time of a previous connection upon receiving the presence attribute data to be updated from the server. The server receives a presence attribute data request to be updated from the client terminal, and transmits only updated presence attribute data, created after releasing the previous connection, from among current presence attribute data to the client terminal.

The presence information database (DB) stores messenger status information of each of a plurality of subscribers subscribing to the messenger services, and registration information shared between the subscribers. In response to a request of the first subscriber, the terminal stores a first subscriber's schedule therein, and transmits the first subscriber's stored schedule and a change request signal of messenger status. The messenger server receives the schedule and the change request signal of messenger status information based on the schedule and changes first subscriber's messenger status information in response to the schedule.

Abstract: Disclosed are an electronic business card service system and a method for performing a vCard application of a client terminal. The electronic business card service system includes a presence server for providing presence information regarding at least one mobile terminal, an electronic business card server, a first mobile terminal for reporting change of presence information regarding the first mobile terminal to the presence server through a network, and a second mobile terminal for communicating with the presence server and the electronic business card server through the network, searching for the presence information by connecting to the presence server after displaying electronic business card information regarding other users read from electronic business card database, updating the electronic business card information using the searched presence information, and displaying the updated electronic business card information and the presence information on a screen.
