  • Publication number: 20070013774
Abstract: A display apparatus is implemented using an SOG or SOP technology that can integrate a plurality of circuit elements on a single substrate. The display apparatus does not include a separate frame memory. Instead of the separate frame memory, the display apparatus uses a predetermined region of a memory provided in a host by allocating it as a frame memory region. Since an image signal transmitted/received between the display apparatus and the host has a coded format, a chip size of the display apparatus and an information processing system with the same is reduced and an amount of transmission data is also reduced.

  • Publication number: 20070013823
Abstract: There are provided a TFT, a TFT substrate using the TFT, a method of fabricating the TFT substrate, and an LCD. The TFT includes a source region, a drain region, and a gate electrode having an opening. The opening of the gate electrode is to enhance the light sensing ability of the TFT when it is used as a light sensor, since light is incident into a region where the opening is formed. The TFT including the gate having the opening can be used in a substrate of a flat display or an LCD using such a substrate. The above TFT can sense light incident from outside the display to adjust the brightness of the screen according to the external illumination.

  • Publication number: 20070008271
Abstract: An LCD device includes an LCD panel, a source driving part, an operating part, a mean voltage generating part, and a pre-charging part. The LCD panel includes a switching element and a liquid crystal capacitor. The switching element is formed in a region defined by gate and source lines adjacent to each other. The liquid crystal capacitor is electrically connected to the switching element. The source driving part converts data signals into data voltages of analog type. The operating part determines a mean data signal of the data signals. The mean voltage generating part converts the mean data signal into a mean data voltage of analog type. The pre-charging part selectively applies the data voltages and the mean data voltage to the source lines, thereby improving an image display quality of the LCD device.

  • Publication number: 20060221662
Abstract: A display device includes a plurality of pixels, wherein each pixel includes: a light emitting element; a first capacitor connected between a first node and a second node; a driving transistor having an input terminal, an output terminal, and a control terminal connected to the second node where the driving transistor supplies a driving current to the light emitting element to emit light; a first switching unit supplying a first reference voltage to the driving transistor according to a first scanning signal and connecting the first node to a data voltage or the driving transistor; and a second switching unit supplying a driving voltage to the driving transistor according to a second scanning signal and connecting the first node to the data voltage. Accordingly, variations in threshold voltage of the driving transistor can be compensated for so that it is possible to display a uniform image.

  • Publication number: 20050078075
Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, a gate driver, a data driver and a line selection circuit. The display panel including a plurality of gate lines, and a plurality of data lines divided into a plurality of blocks. The gate driver outputs a scan signal that activates the gate lines in sequence. The data driver applies a data signal to the data lines by a unit of blocks during an active period which corresponds to a time when one of the gate lines is activated such that a polarity of data signals of i-th active period is opposite to a polarity of data signals of (i+2)-th period, wherein ‘i’ is a natural number. The line selection circuit differentiates timing for selecting the blocks per the gate lines and applies the data signal to the blocks of the data lines. Therefore, display is enhanced.
