  • Publication number: 20080042171
Abstract: Methods of forming transistor arrangements using alternating phase shift masks are provided. The mask may include two parallel opaque lines, a first transparent section separating the opaque lines and a second transparent section in the rest. The second transparent section may shift the phase with respect to the first transparent section by 180 degree. A phase conflict occurs along an edge between the first and the second transparent sections. A semiconductor substrate is patterned via the mask and, from the opaque lines functional active areas of a transistor pair and from the phase conflict edge, thereby resulting in a parasitic area. A separation gate is provided that is capable of switching off a parasitic transistor being formed within the parasitic area. Channel widths may be stabilized and maximized within dense transistor arrangements, for example, in a multiplexer portion of a sense amplifier arrangement for memory cell arrays.

  • Publication number: 20070010026
Abstract: Method of identification and quantitative analysis of primary and/or secondary amine(s) in a sample by mass spectrometry using stable isotope labeled internal standard is provided. Said internal standard is prepared by reaction of an authentic sample of said amine with a stable isotope labeled reagent, and is added to a sample containing said amine. Said amine in said sample is then quantitatively converted to a chemical compound of identical structure, except the stable isotope atoms, as that of said internal standard using a non-labeled reagent. Said sample is then extracted and the extract is analyzed by mass spectrometry. Identification and quantification of said amine are made from a plot of ion ratio of said converted amine to said internal standard versus amine concentration.

  • Publication number: 20060203862
Abstract: An optical transmitter for coarse wavelength division multiplexed (CWDM) optical communication systems uses a conventional laser (e.g. laser diode) and in addition a heater element is provided thermally coupled to the laser. A thermal sensor and associated control circuit drive the heater so as to control the power consumed by the heater to assure that the laser's temperature is not lower than a predetermined minimum working temperature. When the sensed laser temperature is above this predetermined minimum temperature, the control circuit turns off the heater. The total operating range of the transmitter in terms of ambient temperature is thus extended beyond its inherent operating range by the maximum laser temperature rise created by the heater. This allows a CWDM optical transmitter with the heater and control circuitry to be used in outdoor applications where a wide ambient temperature range is required.

  • Patent number: 7016060
Abstract: Disclosed is a method, system, and program for reconfiguring multiple logical printers from using a first monitor program to using a second monitor program to communicate with one physical printer. The monitor program submits print jobs directed to a logical printer to one associated physical printer over a network. At least one physical printer is associated with each logical printer. A determination is made of a plurality of logical printers and whether each physical printer associated with each of the plurality of logical printers is of a particular class. An indication is made in a data structure of each logical printer associated with one physical printer of the particular class. Each of the plurality of logical printers indicated in the data structure is reconfigured to use the second monitor program to submit print jobs to one physical printer of the particular class.

  • Publication number: 20060036877
Abstract: A method and system for managing peripheral connection wakeup signaling in a processing system supporting multiple virtual machines provides a mechanism by which ownership of a peripheral having system wakeup capability is transferred between virtual machines. The power management event signal is connected to a service processor input that in turn signals a hypervisor to direct the wakeup activity to a particular logical partition in which the virtual machine was last executing. The hypervisor can then determine whether or not to wake up the entire system, or portions thereof and can direct the power management event to the appropriate virtual machine. In particular the peripheral may be an Ethernet adapter supporting Wake-On-LAN capability. State initialization, which is typically ensured by system power cycling is provided instead by controlling power to the standby power source or in some instances by forcing an indication of a disconnect/reconnect of the wakeup signaling connection.

  • Publication number: 20050191995
Abstract: A telecommunication switch for operating in a CS-2 intelligent network architecture. The telecommunication switch comprises: 1) integrated service logic (ISL) objects that perform requested services; and 2) a service control function access manager object that receives a first service request and determines if one of the ISL objects can perform a first requested service associated with the first service request. The service control function access manager object, in response to a determination that none of the ISL objects is capable of performing the first requested service, transmits the first service request to a service control function object external to the telecommunication switch. The service control function access manager object, in response to a determination that a first one of the ISL objects is capable of performing the first requested service, causes the first ISL object to perform the first requested service.
