Abstract: Provided are a photographing method and apparatus using face pose estimation. The photographing method includes: detecting a face area from an input image; estimating pose information in the detected face area; and determining a face direction based on the estimated pose information and recording the input image according to the face direction. Accordingly, when a face of a subject looks at something other than a camera, a picture is not taken, and thus a failed photograph is prevented.

Abstract: Disclosed is a digital signal processing apparatus of a communication terminal for adaptably transmitting voice data to allotted uplink channels and a voice data transmission method thereof. The digital signal processing apparatus comprises a plurality of speech coders for compressing the sampled voice data with each compression rate predetermined according to the number of packet channels capable of being allotted, a plurality of channel coders for channel-coding each set of voice data, compressed by each speech coder, according to respective predetermined codes, and a switching section, for outputting voice data which are compressed and channel-coded corresponding to the number of the allotted packet channels when packet channels are allotted.

Abstract: Disclosed is an encryption code for encrypting data to be transmitted or received during short-distance communication, namely, an encryption key generator for generating an encryption key, in order to transmit the encryption key to an integrated mobile communication terminal and a service terminal during short-distance secure communication. The two terminals encrypt data using the encryption key and receive or transmit the data, thereby implementing authentication and secure communication.

Abstract: A method of providing a group call service in a radio network is provided. A BS, which does not cover a GCA but is located in a radio network near to the GCA, generates extended group call service information including information about BSs that cover an NGCA and broadcasts the extended group call service information. Upon receipt of the extended group call service information, an MS selects a BS in the best service condition among BSs set in the extended group call service information as a BS from which to receive an extended group call service and receives group call paging information from the BS. The MS analyzes the group call paging information and decides whether the group call service is available from the BS. If the group call service is available, the MS registers and connects to the selected BS and receives the group call from the BS.

Abstract: Disclosed is a broadcasting system for providing a multiple broadcasting service, which includes a DMB transmission center for reducing image data in broadcasting data for each of one or more broadcasting channels to reduced image data with a preset size, generating a transport stream including a separate channel for multiple broadcasting from the reduced image data, and broadcasting the generated transport stream; and a DMB terminal for receiving the reduced image data through a multiple broadcasting channel if a user makes request for a multiple broadcasting service, decoding the reduced image data, and displaying the decoded image data on a screen.

Abstract: A data communication method for a mobile communication system reduces the consumption of resources when a desirable half-duplex data connection is provided. The data communication method includes the steps of: a) determining whether data communication is needed between at least two MSs (Mobile Stations) located in a service area of one BTS (Base Transmit Subsystem); b) if the data communication between the MSs is needed, assigning one physical half-duplex data channel to the MSs in common; and c) if data is transmitted to the MSs over a downlink channel of the half-duplex data channel, adding a header to the data to create data, and transmitting the data to the MSs.

A detection is made, after the registration, as to whether the handover of the mobile terminal is possible, and a handover process is started.

Abstract: Disclosed is a portable terminal with an improved server connecting device and a method of connecting the portable terminal to a server. The portable terminal includes a communication unit for communicating with a server through an access point (AP), a server connecting unit for initiating a connection to the server, and a controller for automatically searching for the server through the communication unit over the AP when the server connecting unit is operated.

Abstract: Disclosed is a mobile communication terminal of a mobile communication system using a plurality of different codecs and an automatic answering method thereof which can perform an automatic answering function with a single type of an automatic answering message without the necessity of storing automatic answering messages of different types that match the respective codecs, and can store automatic answering messages in an encoding form having a small amount of data. The automatic answering method includes performing a call set-up when a call signal is received through an antenna, determining if the automatic answering function is set, reading a pre-stored automatic answering message if the automatic answering function is set, selecting an encoder of a codec which corresponds to a coding type of the call signal received through the antenna during the call set-up, and encoding the read automatic answering message through the encoder.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for providing only authorized mobile subscribers with a specified commercial broadcasting service in a cellular mobile communication network. A base station transmits a control signal including a common traffic ciphered key having a specified validation period through a dedicated secure signal channel assigned to a respective authorized subscriber terminal. The base station then enciphers broadcasting data from a broadcasting system with the common traffic ciphered key, for broadcasting through a common traffic broadcasting channel. The base station periodically updates the common traffic ciphered key according to the corresponding validation period. A subscriber terminal obtains the common traffic ciphered key from the control signal received through the dedicated secure signal channel, and deciphers the broadcasting signal with the obtained common traffic ciphered key to obtain therefrom the broadcasting data.
