  • Process for the production of acetone from isobutyraldehyde

    Abstract: Isobutyraldehyde is produced by the oxo process and converted to acetone in the gas phase by oxidative decarbonylation on a zinc oxide supported copper oxide catalyst. The conversion is improved by adding about 2.5 to 25 percent by weight graphite to the catalyst, based on the total weight of catalyst.
