Abstract: A communication method for a portable terminal preferably includes emitting, by a transmission portable terminal, at least one of light or sound and notifying a server of emission details, sensing, by a reception portable terminal, the emitted light or sound and notifying the server of sensing details. The transmission portable terminal transmits data to the server, and receives by each of one or more reception portable terminals which have sensed the light or sound, the data through the server.

Abstract: A method for displaying broadcasting channel information in a digital broadcasting reception apparatus includes receiving and storing digital broadcasting program guidance data including image information for digital broadcasting programs; generating a broadcasting program list including image information for digital broadcasting programs according to channels when a request for broadcasting channel information is received from a user, by means of the digital broadcasting program guidance data; and displaying the broadcasting program list according to channels, which includes the image information. In the method, it is possible to provide users with graphic-based broadcasting channel information instead of text-based broadcasting channel information. In the method, broadcasting channel information is provided to users together with contents of preview dynamic images or still images for digital broadcasting programs, so that the users view image information for broadcasting programs in advance.

Abstract: A data communication method between a mobile terminal and a personal computer (PC) which can be connected to each other through a communication cable. The method comprises the steps of transmitting a data communication command signal to the mobile terminal through a high speed USB communication protocol and detecting whether the mobile terminal is in a high speed USB communication mode according to a response signal of the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal having a communication mode that can be changed to a high speed USB communication mode according to a command signal.

Abstract: A photographing method for directing subjects being photographed to concentrate their attention on a camera within an apparatus at user selectable time increments. The photographing method comprises the steps of receiving a photographing key signal for photographing an image, reproducing a self-timer sound or a visual indicator to announce a time leading up to a moment of photographing after receiving the photographing key signal, reproducing a preparation sound and/or a visual indicator (or both), to announce a time just before the moment of photographing after the self-timer sound has been reproduced, reproducing a shutter sound to announce execution of photographing at the moment of photographing after the preparation sound has been reproduced, and photographing an image simultaneously with the reproduction of the shutter sound.
