  • Patent number: 6911151
Abstract: The invention relates to a device and a method for separating substances by liquid chromatography. The aim of the invention is to provide a device and a method by which means substances can be separated by liquid chromatography under pressure and which enable parallel separation and detection of at least several samples. The device should have a compact, economical construction. To this end, the inventive device for separating substances by liquid chromatography under pressure is characterized in that at least several liquid chromatography separating lines (17) are supplied by a single delivery unit (one or two pumps), said separating lines being arranged so that they run parallel, and in that said separating lines are combined with a sample-loading system (5) and an injection system (18) in the sample introduction area and with a multi-channel detector (13), connected to an evaluation and control unit (16), in the detection area.

  • Patent number: 6532978
Abstract: The invention relates a method and a device for regulating individual sub-flows of a conveying system while the main flow is conveyed in a constant manner. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device which enable the sub-flows of the conveying lines of a system for conveying fluid media to be regulated as required in said individual conveying lines with just one conveyor unit. To this end, the inventive device for regulating individual sub-flows of a system for conveying fluid media has several conveying lines which are guided in parallel. The invention is characterized in that the following are arranged in the conveying system: at least one total pressure measuring device (10), at least one sub-flow measuring unit (D) in each conveying line, at least one valve (7) with a throttle (B) and a data acquisition, processing and control value output module (C), these being functionally interconnected by hardware and/or software.

  • Patent number: 6080318
Abstract: The invention concerns an HPLC-based device and method for separating high complex substance mixtures. Plant and microbial extracts are high complex substance mixtures. They contain large amounts of extremely polar and non-polar materials. In principle, said mixtures can be separated by using a chromatic method. However, separation with existing chromatographic devices, for instance HPLC installations, is extremely time-consuming. The invention seeks to create a HPLC installation that separates fully automatically high complex substances in a very short time in such a way that said substances are broken down into their components in an almost pure state and can then be fed into a test system. To this end, said HPLC-based device comprises separation column units (A, F),fractionating column units (E, G), detector units (7, and 20, 21), pumping units (B, C, D) and fraction collecting units.
