  • Publication number: 20050156099
Abstract: An optical detection device for detecting an intensity of a light beam in a detection window and for detecting data transmitted by the light beam includes a first detection diode and an array of at least two second detection diodes in a detection window. In addition, provision is made for a first readout circuit connectable to the first detection diode, for reading out the first detection diode at a first readout speed to detect the data, and for a second readout circuit connectable to the second detection diodes, for reading out the second detection diodes at a second readout speed smaller than the first readout speed, so as to detect the intensity of the light beam.

  • Publication number: 20050089350
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for generating positionally-accurate print images on a carrier material with the aid of an electrophotographic printer or copier. A positioning error of the position of the carrier material with respect to a toner image present on the toner image carrier is determined, which error occurs during the contacting of a carrier material to be printed. Dependent on the positioning error determined, for every subsequent contacting of the carrier material to be printed with the toner image carrier, the position of the carrier material with respect to the toner image is adapted before the contacting such that the carrier material and the toner image are arranged with respect to one another substantially free of positioning errors.

  • Publication number: 20040032816
Abstract: The invention refers to a device and a method for scanning an optical data carrier (1) by means of a main scanning beam (3) being reflected by the data carrier (1) and being detected by means of a photodetector (10), the data carrier (1) having first and second layers (11,12) to be scanned, the second layer (12) being scanned through the first layer (11), light passing the first layer (11) being shaded dependent on local properties of the first layer (11). An object of the invention is to propose a device having increased performance even for use with multi layer disks (1) having a layer (11) causing light fluctuations on a layer (12) to be scanned, as well as a respective method. According to the invention such device is provided with means (2,7,17) for keeping an output signal (D) of the photodetector (10) independent of variations of shading.

  • Patent number: 6501929
Abstract: A printing system for printing on recording media first by a first printer and then by a second printer provides that print data is supplied in a page by page manner to the first and second printers from a print data source. Page information is sent to the printers using the print data and corresponding page information is sent to a buffer storage by the first printer. The page information in the buffer storage and the page information sent to the second printer are verified in a page by page manner by determining adherence to a predetermined rule. A synchronization mark is generated on the recording media by the first printer and is read by the second printer, which is used to control the printing process.

  • Patent number: 6402405
Abstract: A method and device to control a paper drive mechanism of an electrographic printer or copier by friction feed. Optical markings are provided on the recording medium, and a sensor scans an area of the recording medium for the optical marking during transport of the recording medium. An evaluation device evaluates the signals from the sensor for two successive markings corresponding to page length. High speed conveyance of the recording medium is controlled according to page length identified by the evaluation device.

  • Patent number: 6318916
Abstract: A method and a control for a drive which is devoid of a sprocket feed and located in an electrographic printer which outputs information on a striplike recording medium divided up into pages. It is possible to determine in a start mode whether perforated or non-perforated paper has been inserted into the printer. A recording medium with marginal perforation is initially conveyed in steps according to a control grid until it fits tightly into a larger conveyor grid which corresponds to a fraction of the distance between perforations. Subsequently, the recording medium is conveyed in normal operating mode in steps according to the conveyor grid.

  • Patent number: 6256474
Abstract: A method and a device for controlling a drive unit which conveys a striplike laterally pre-printed recording medium, whereby a sensor is sensitized with respect to a regularly re-occurring mark of the recording medium. The recording medium is continuously scanned by the sensor during the printing operation and the speed at which the recording medium is conveyed is adjusted according to scanned signals from the sensor.

  • Patent number: 6205386
Abstract: The invention is directed to the automatic determination of a quantity which represents the rpm ratio between the transmission and the wheels. For this purpose, first and second rpm values are first detected which represent the rpm of at least one wheel and the rotational speed of a transmission component. Furthermore, a driving state quantity is formed which represents the instantaneous driving state of the motor vehicle. The essence of the invention is that a pregiven driving state can be determined when the formed driving state quantity indicates an essentially steady state driving state. The determination of the rpm transmission ratio which is sought takes place in dependence upon the detected rpm values when the pregiven operating state is detected. Furthermore, the invention relates to a stepped method which, for example, ensures a rapid determination of the differential transmission ratio after a transmission control apparatus is newly built in.
