  • Patent number: 11973826
Abstract: At least one distribution node with a plurality of input/output interfaces is provided in an automation communication network. Data is exchanged via telegrams with priority levels. The distribution node interrupts transmission of a telegram having a first priority level if a telegram with a second, higher priority level is received. The distribution node terminates the interrupted telegram, which forms a first fragment defined by sending first fragmentation information at the end of the first fragment. A part that has not been sent forms a second fragment. The distribution node stores the second fragment together with second fragmentation information. After sending the telegram having the second, higher priority level, the distribution node sends the second fragment together with the second fragmentation information. A node, for which the telegram having the first priority level is intended, assembles the first and second fragments on the basis of the first and second fragmentation information.

  • Publication number: 20220355818
Abstract: A method for a scene interpretation of an environment of a vehicle. The method includes: receiving environment sensor data from at least one environment sensor of a vehicle; carrying out an object detection based on the environment sensor data and detecting first objects in the environment of the vehicle; carrying out a scene analysis of the environment by taking into consideration the detected first objects and second objects stored in a map display of the environment, the scene analysis including: comparing the first objects detected in the object detection based on the environment sensor data to the second objects of the map display; and supplying a scene interpretation based on the scene analysis to a vehicle control of the vehicle, and at least the first objects detected in the object detection that agree with corresponding second objects of the map display are considered in the scene interpretation.

  • Patent number: 11216672
Abstract: A method for detecting a relevant region in the surroundings of an ego vehicle, in which a situation exists which is relevant to the driving and/or safety of the ego vehicle, from measurement data of a sensor which observes at least a portion of the surroundings, the measurement data being discretized into pixels or voxels and/or are suitably represented in some other way, the existence of the relevant situation being dependent on the presence of at least one characteristic object in the surroundings, and the resolution of the pixels, voxels and/or the other representation being insufficient for directly detecting the characteristic object, the measurement data being analyzed for the presence of a grouping of objects which contains the characteristic object, the resolution of the pixels, voxels and/or the other representation being sufficient for detecting the grouping. A region in which the grouping is detected is classified as a relevant region.

  • Publication number: 20210370925
Abstract: A method for lossy compression of measured data obtained through physical observation of a detection area. The method includes: the measured data and/or data prepared therefrom are divided with respect to at least one criterion into a plurality of classes and/or regions; the classes and/or regions are assigned priorities with respect to the intended evaluation of the measured data or to the data prepared therefrom; temporal changes of the measured data and/or of the data prepared therefrom divided into each class or region are compressed in a lossy manner, the degree of compression being a function of the priority assigned to the class or region. A method for monitoring a vehicle driving in traffic, and/or for controlling a vehicle driving at least in a semi-automated manner in traffic using the method for lossy compression, a compression module, camera, radar module or LIDAR module, and computer program, are also described.

  • Patent number: 9137351
Abstract: A method and system for automatically changing the operation of signaling features in a telephone are disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method is disclosed to provide automatic reduction in the sound volume associated with the signaling features of a telephone system, during a selected portion of a day. A user is provided with a programmable menu in communication with one or more devices associated with a telephone system. From the menu provided, the user may enter a the beginning and ending time for the “quiet mode” operation of the telephone system. In addition, the user may select the signaling features to be quieted, as well as the sound volume associated with quiet mode operation for a given signaling feature.

  • Patent number: 8331931
Abstract: A method and system for registering wireless devices with a base unit that is configured to communicate wirelessly with multiple wireless devices. In one example, the wireless devices are cordless handsets of cordless telephone systems. When placed in a charging cradle, an unregistered handset displays a message indicating that the handset should be registered. A user provides local input to the base unit to activate a registration sequence. A three-way handshake is initiated at the base station, wherein a sequence of three wireless messages are passed between the base and unregistered handset. The handset displays a message indicating successful registration.

  • Patent number: 8213595
Abstract: A method for adjusting caller ID information includes receiving at a call device a caller ID message that includes a calling number. An address book associated with the call device is searched. An address book telephone number having the matching area code or local exchange number is analyzed to determine if the first digits of both address book phone number and calling number constitute a “1.” If the first digit in both numbers is the same, the calling number is stored unadjusted, while if the first digits differ, the calling number is adjusted. A method for adjusting caller ID information includes comparing the format of a received calling phone number to a set of predetermined criteria that are used to enable a “truncate” function in a context-sensitive “delete” button only when a predetermined criterion is met.

  • Publication number: 20110184895
Abstract: A method for setting up a traffic object recognition system. A scene generator simulates three-dimensional simulations of various traffic situations which include at least one of the traffic objects. A projection unit generates signals which correspond to signals that the sensor would detect in a traffic situation simulated by the three-dimensional simulation. The signals are sent to the evaluation unit for recognizing traffic objects, and the pattern recognition is trained based on a deviation between the traffic objects simulated in the three-dimensional simulations of traffic situations and the traffic objects recognized therein.

  • Patent number: 7856088
Abstract: A system and method for integrating heterogeneous phone message mailboxes in a common interface. A message record is created in a data structure of a local telephone device when a phone message received over a first telephone line is stored in a local answering device is completed. A message alert is received when a remote phone message is stored in a remote mailbox associated with a second telephone line linked to the local telephone device. The remote phone message is sent to the local telephone device for silent playback. The remote message is marked as old at the remote mailbox. A message record is created in the data structure corresponding to the remote message. A program operates to produce an ordered message record list in the data structure that includes, for example, an interleaved chronological list of all phone messages stored in the local and remote mailboxes.

  • Patent number: 7474744
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for providing local time of a potential called party to a user of a telephone system (i.e., calling party). In the preferred embodiment, the local time of the potential called party is displayed on a display or announced by a speaker of the telephone system when the name or the telephone number of the potential called party is selected. The local time of the potential called party is provided prior to or while initiating a call so that the user of the telephone system can determine whether it is appropriate time to call the potential called party.
