  • Publication number: 20220378288
Abstract: A method for collecting biometric measurement data of an eye on the basis of different measurement modalities, allowing for physiologically correct, representative, and robust biometric measurement data. In the method, the measurement data for individual measurement variables and the dynamic behavior of the eye are recorded continuously at the highest possible repetition rate over the measurement time. The individual phases of the dynamics of the eye which define the limits of the phase for stable vision are analyzed on the basis of the measurement values, and only the measurement data for the individual measurement variables are output which have been detected during the phase for stable vision. Although the proposed method is provided for collecting biometric measurement data in preparation for a cataract operation, the method can also be applied to other areas of ophthalmology to generate error-free measurement data or recordings of the eye.

  • Patent number: 8486054
Abstract: A method of providing optometric parameters for an optometric procedure includes locating patient identification information on a central data storage by transmitting a search query from a computing device communicating with the central data storage. The search query generates a result set containing at least one patient having patient identification information substantially matching the search query. From the result set, a patient undergoing the optometric procedure is selected. An input form for this patient is then displayed with input fields corresponding to each of the optometric parameters. A qualified collector obtains the measurement values for the optometric parameters and inputs them into respective input fields. A data record containing the measurement values and the patient identification information is generated and transmitted to the central data storage.

  • Publication number: 20080115206
Abstract: A method for identifying the site of an operation during an operation, in particular using a laser system, with the help of unique data about the operation site. A first copy of the unique data is stored in a laser system, the unique data being located in the vicinity of the operation site and/or directly at said operation site. Before the start of the operation, the first copy and the unique data are compared to verify if they are identical and the result of said verification is forwarded to the laser system. In addition, a device for identifying an operation site during an operation includes a laser system having a storage unit for storing data and a reading unit configured to determine unique data about the operation site and to provide a first copy of the unique data to the storage unit. The device also includes a comparator device operably connected to the storage device and configured to compare the first copy and the unique data for identity.
