  • Publication number: 20240094352
Abstract: A lidar device having a light source, a detector, and a mirror device. The light source has a main radiation direction and the detector has a main detection direction. The mirror device is rotatable about an axis and has a facet wheel with a number of facets. The main radiation direction and the main detection direction stand at a predetermined angle to each other, the predetermined angle being a function of the number of facets. A light beam emitted from the light source is reflected by a first facet and a light beam reflected back from an object is reflected by a second facet. Here the first facet and the second facet are different.

  • Publication number: 20230092128
Abstract: A computer unit for a LiDAR device, which has a laser source configured to emit a laser signal into a transmit path, and a LiDAR sensor arranged in a receive path and configured to detect a laser signal reflected into the receive path. The computer unit is configured to process a multiplicity of laser signal data points of the reflected laser signal. The computer unit is configured to filter halation out of the laser signal data points of the reflected laser signal.

  • Publication number: 20220334234
Abstract: A method for generating light pulses of a LIDAR system. The method includes the following steps: a) generating a light pulse sequence, including at least one first light pulse and one second light pulse of different intensities by a light source, in particular a laser; b) emitting the light pulse sequence by the LIDAR system; c) receiving, by the LIDAR system, a portion of the light pulse sequence reflected by an object; d) evaluating the received portion of the light pulse sequence for measuring distance. A corresponding LIDAR system, a computer program and a machine-readable memory medium are also described.

  • Publication number: 20220120911
Abstract: A lidar system having interference source detection, in particular, for a vehicle. An emitter unit and a detector unit are provided, so that reflected light for sampling a surrounding area may be detected. The light emitted by the emitter unit travels through a window out of the housing, and the light reflected by the surrounding area travels through the window into the housing. At least one secondary detector is provided, which is attached to a coupling-out surface of the window. The secondary detector is configured to detect scattered light propagating inside of the window. The lidar system includes a control unit, which is configured to evaluate scattered light detected by the at least one secondary detector, in order to detect interference sources on or in the window.

  • Publication number: 20220043121
Abstract: A LIDAR sensor, including a window, at least one first group and one second group of electrical conductors, and a detection circuit. The window is a light exit and entry interface of the LIDAR sensor. Each of the groups includes a first conductor and a second conductor, which are situated on and/or within the window, electrically insulated from one another, form a capacitive sensor, and are electrically connected to the detection circuit. The first and second groups are situated at positions which deviate from one another. The detection circuit generates an electrical field between the respective first conductors and second conductors of the respective groups to detect a change in the electrical field as a result of an object in close range of the window, ascertain a position of the object within the surface of the window, and provide a piece of information about the position of the object.
