  • Patent number: 10136474
Abstract: A heat generating element for an electrical heating device of a motor vehicle, including at least one PTC element and two contact plates which are in contact with opposite sides of the PTC element and are provided on their outer side facing away from the PTC element with an insulating layer. Shielding is provided, comprising a first shell-like shielding plate and a second shell-like shielding plate which are each provided on the outer side of the insulating layer and are connected thereto in a thermally conductive manner. The longitudinal wall sections, directed towards one another, of the first and second shielding plate form an overlapping region. In order to reduce EMC problems, two shielding plates are sealed by way of an adhesive which is received in one of the two shielding plates and into which the end of a rim of the other shielding plate dips.

  • Patent number: 8395089
Abstract: An electrical heating device, which includes a housing, in which at least one heat generating element with at least one PTC element and electrical strip conductors abutting oppositely situated lateral faces of the PTC element and a plurality of heat dissipating elements arranged in parallel layers are accommodated, which are held abutted on oppositely situated sides of the heat generating element. An electrical heating device according to the invention and which fulfils the practical requirements, in particular with high voltage operation in an improved manner has at least one heat dissipating element which is situated, with the intermediate positioning of an electrically insulating layer, on the assigned heat generating element and can be electrically connected to a ground potential.

  • Publication number: 20120014680
Abstract: The present invention relates to a PTC based heating device for a motor vehicle, preferably with electrical propulsion, in which one or a plurality of supplementary circuits are connected to a heating circuit for being switched in optionally. In this way it is possible to use a large number of possibilities for temperature control for energy management which is important in electric vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20110233181
Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical heating device for motor vehicles, in particular with electrical propulsion. Through a readjustment based on a comparison of set and actual values, the power is adapted to a specified power demand under continuously changing operating conditions. For this purpose, the total current passing through the heating device is measured, for example with a Hall sensor, and the momentary power consumption (actual value) determined by multiplication with the specified on-board electrical voltage.

  • Publication number: 20110233189
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an electrical heating device for motor vehicles, in particular with electrical propulsion. The heating device uses a PWM based control concept which can be used for heating elements with any non-linear characteristics. In this respect, activation times in a cycle frame are assigned to power stages to be controlled and are stored in a table in a non-volatile memory.
