  • Patent number: 9482344
Abstract: An arrangement includes a radial shaft seal (2) that surrounds a shaft (1), wherein an elastomer body (4) forms a sealing lip (5) for bearing against the shaft (1), wherein the sealing lip (5) has a sinusoidally curved sealing edge (6) on its side which faces the shaft (1), which sealing edge runs around along the inner circumference of the sealing lip (5), and wherein the sealing edge (6) bears against the circumferential face (7) of the shaft (1). The radial shaft seal as a single component is able to produce high dynamic seal tightness in a plurality of different applications.

  • Publication number: 20120169014
Abstract: A seal is provided comprising at least two sealing lips including a first sealing lip and a second sealing lip being arranged in series. A sealing system is provided which ensures a problem-free operation with a long service life at the same time. The seal is characterized in that the sealing lips are made of different materials. A system, which includes such a seal, is assigned to a rotatable shaft and at least two sealing lips seal off two spaces against each other.

  • Publication number: 20050242521
Abstract: A radial shaft sealing ring with a backing ring and a sealing element made of an elastomeric material vulcanized onto it. The sealing element has a lip seal which, for the uninstalled sealing ring, protrudes from the backing ring in radial direction. When the ring is installed in the opening of a housing in a prestressed condition, the lip seal surrounds the shaft with its curved sealing surface. The lip seal consists of an elastomer and its sealing surface consists of a sealing bulge disposed at the end of the lip seal. The lip seal surrounds the shaft and a surface segment attached thereto retains or returns leaking liquid. The terminal surface of the lip seal, when the sealing element is installed, is oriented toward the internal space of a housing that is to be sealed.
