  • Publication number: 20060042074
Abstract: In a method for adjusting the rotation angle position of the camshaft of a reciprocating-piston engine in relation to the crankshaft in which the crankshaft is in drive connection with the camshaft via an actuating gear, which is designed as a three-shaft gear having a drive shaft in a fixed mounting on the crankshaft, an output shaft in a fixed mounting on the camshaft and an actuating shaft which is in drive connection with an actuating motor, a measured value for the crankshaft rotation angle is determined for at least one crankshaft measurement point in time. For at least two actuating shaft measurement points in time, a measured value for the actuating shaft rotation angle is determined digitally.

  • Publication number: 20060001388
Abstract: In a method for measuring the speed of an electrical machine having a stator, a rotor and a winding, in particular of an electronically commutated motor, a speed-measurement signal ? is sampled, in that a measured speed value ?(k) for the rotor is determined for each of a series of sampling instants. Moreover, a moment of inertia value for the mass moment of inertia of the rotor is determined. In addition, a current signal I is sampled, in that a current value I(k) for the electrical current in the winding is determined for each of the sampling instants. An estimated value ?s(k) for each of the measured speed values ?(k) is determined from a measured speed value ?k(k?1) assigned to an earlier sampling instant, from the current signal I and from the moment of inertia value. A tolerance band containing the estimated value ?s(k) is assigned to this estimated value ?s(k).

  • Publication number: 20050274339
Abstract: An adjusting device for the rotational position of the camshaft of a reciprocating piston engine relative to the crankshaft has a variator which is designed as a three-shaft transmission having a fixed-to-the-crankshaft input shaft, a fixed-to-the-camshaft output shaft, and an adjusting shaft. The adjusting shaft is coupled nonrotatably to the rotor of a servomotor. To limit the torsional angle between the camshaft and the crankshaft, the adjusting device has limit stops. The servomotor is connected to a control circuit which is designed for controlling the phase velocity of the torsional angle.

  • Publication number: 20050274338
Abstract: An adjusting device for the rotational position of the camshaft of a reciprocating piston engine relative to the crankshaft, has an actuator for adjusting the rotational position that is connected into a control circuit. The control circuit has a controller, which is linked to a data memory, in which controller coefficients for a transfer function of the controller are stored. The data memory has at least two memory areas in which various sets of controller coefficients are stored. The control circuit is connectable with the aid of a mode selector, optionally or alternately, in such a way to one of the data memory areas that the controller coefficient set stored in the particular data memory area is used for the control. A device for ascertaining the operating state of the adjusting device and/or of the reciprocating piston engine is connected to the mode selector in such a way that the controller coefficient set used in the particular case for the control is dependent on the operating state.

  • Publication number: 20050253541
Abstract: A method for measuring the rotational speed of an EC motor having a primary part including a winding, and a secondary part having magnet segments offset with respect to one another in the circumferential direction and magnetized in alternatingly opposite directions, the magnet segments having tolerances regarding their positioning and/or their dimensions, the method including rotating the secondary part with respect to the primary part and detecting the position of the magnet segments with respect to the primary part. The position measuring signal is differentiated to form a rotational speed signal. At least one correction value is determined and saved to compensate the influence of at least one of the tolerances on the speed signal. The speed signal is corrected with the aid of the correction value.

  • Publication number: 20050130800
Abstract: A method for controlling an automated clutch of a motor vehicle, wherein the frictional engagement of the clutch is characterized by a physical friction value that changes dependent on an operating state of the clutch, has the steps of: a) modeling the physical friction value as a friction value (RW) in a clutch control unit based on at least one parameter of the power train, wherein the friction value (RW) contains a component representing a dependency of the friction value from a clutch temperature, and b) controlling the frictional engagement of the automated clutch based on the friction value (RW) that was obtained as a result of the modeling in step a).

  • Patent number: 6896112
Abstract: A clutch-actuating device for a clutch in a motor vehicle power train has an actuator motor driving an actuating member and a transfer mechanism which transmits the movement of the actuating member to a clutch release element that is movable against an opposing force of a clutch spring to displace the clutch from a closed position to an open position. The transfer mechanism has a first movement range in which the movement of the actuating member in the opening direction of the clutch does not displace the clutch from its closed position, and a second movement range in which the movement of the actuating member causes a displacement of the clutch. The transfer mechanism has an interval of loose play, which is used up within the first range.

  • Publication number: 20040129100
Abstract: A transmission system including a shift mechanism for operating and controlling the transmission system. To automatically detect geometric characteristic values of the transmission system or of the shifting device a selector motor and a shift motor actuate a selector finger that is displaceably mounted in a selection-shift-passageway layout. Starting from an initial position whose coordinates within the selection-shift-passageway layout are unknown, the selector finger is displaced in the directions of shifting and in the directions of selection in order to detect paths of movement in the direction of selection or shifting. The selector finger is repeatedly displaced to establish the maximum paths of movement until the predetermined transmission geometric characteristic values are completely detected. Also disclosed are a control device for controlling a transmission system that includes a shift mechanism, and a method for controlling such a transmission system.

  • Patent number: 6698302
Abstract: A method of keeping track of the current operating position of an actuator in an automated gear-shift transmission has the following steps: monitoring the level of energy supplied by an energy source to the actuator; comparing the energy level to a minimum energy level required by the actuator; and if the energy level is lower than the required minimum, saving the current actuator position in memory for retrieval at a later time.
