  • Publication number: 20230225839
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and systems for generating a 3-D dental impression with a corresponding hinge axis position and, in certain embodiments, a condylar guide inclination. In some embodiments, an intraoral scanner and a computer processing system are employed to: i) generate upper and lower jaw models, and first and second occlusal 3-D models with different mouth openings (MOs) or functional positions (FPs), ii) align the models to generate a composite 3-D model, iii) calculate a hinge axis position from the composite 3-D model based on the difference in said MOs or FPs, and iv) mount the 3-D dental impression on a virtual articulator (VA) by aligning the hinge axis position to the hinge axis position of the VA.

  • Publication number: 20220192540
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, computer programs, and methods employing oral cavity image capture for determining tooth displacement (e.g., for identifying patients with, or at risk for, periodontal disease). In certain embodiments, a medical imaging device or system (e.g., an intraoral scanner or other scanner) is employed to generate baseline and test scan images of at least one tooth, where the test scan is performed when the tooth in engaged with an opposing tooth in a chewing action, or is being pushed by an outside force, and the images are processed by a computer program to determine the amount of displacement of the tooth in at least one direction.

  • Publication number: 20190374305
Abstract: A dental implant positioning and guiding assembly is disclosed in the present invention. The dental implant positioning and guiding assembly includes a positioning rod, a convex element, a concave element, a connector and a plurality of guiding elements. The positioning rod is utilized to be inserted into a drilled hole in a patient's oral model. The convex element has a through hole for holding the positioning rod. The concave element is positionally assemble with the convex element. The connector is fixed to one side of the concave element and has a contact surface with a surface contour matching an oral contour of the patient for engaging with the oral contour. Each of the guiding elements is positionally assembled with the concave element and has an open with a curve guiding surface for guiding the surgery operator to drill the at least one implant hole.
