Publication number: 20090218860Abstract: An assembly structured to movably support a video game or video simulation participant comprising a chair movably connected to and supported by a frame. A driver assembly includes a plurality of driver members collectively structured to concurrently or independently move the chair about any one or all of a plurality of substantially transversely oriented axes. A control assembly includes a manually operable control member operatively connected to the driver assembly to accomplish substantially corresponding movement of the chair with that of the control member. A display assembly including a monitor disposed to be viewable from the chair and a processing assembly is operatively associated with the monitor to determine the video content displayed thereon. The control assembly and the driver assembly are operatively interconnected to determine movement of the chair independently of the content of the video.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 29, 2008Publication date: September 3, 2009Inventors: Homar Hernandez, Nigel Henry

Patent number: 6805363Abstract: A shoe is provided which is convertible between a walking shoe and roller skate comprising a shoe upper connected to an outsole formed with an internal bore at both the heel area and arch area, each of which receive a hollow sleeve carrying a rod whose opposite ends protrude from the sides of the outsole. A first end of each rod mounts a wheel which is retained thereon by a fixed end cap, and the opposite, second end of each rod has opposed, radially outwardly extending locking pins which are received within bores formed in a locking cap operative to retain a second wheel on the second end of each rod.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2002Date of Patent: October 19, 2004Assignee: BBC International, Ltd.Inventor: Homar Hernandez

Publication number: 20040000255Abstract: The present invention discloses a compound and a method for a cushion pad that is bonded to an outsole without the need for glue or other adhesives. This cushion pad can be softer and more flexible then the outsole but can be similar enough in composition to be recyclable without having to separate it from the outsole. The compound can consist of a styrene-butadiene-styrene triblock copolymer, ethyl-vinyl-acetate, peroxide, a filler agent, and a blowing agent. The combination of these materials will form a high rubber content foam sheet that is very soft and shock adsorbing. This process can use the above compound to manufacture a rubber outsole with an integrated cushioning pad that can be manufactured in one step.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2002Publication date: January 1, 2004Applicant: BBC International Ltd.Inventor: Homar Hernandez

Patent number: 6564476Abstract: The invention advantageously provides enhanced support of the foot wearing a shoe according to the invention, while eliminating unnecessary manufacturing steps. According to the invention, an upper, an insole, and an outsole are provided to manufacture a shoe. The outsole comprises a heel, an arch, and a plantar region. A cavity is formed in one or more of the heel, arch and plantar regions of the outsole. A cushioning pad is permanently affixed in the cavity. The upper, insole and outsole are then assembled to make the shoe according to the invention. The pad functions integrally with the outsole in cushioning shock to a given area of the foot wearing the shoe. A midsole and the manufacturing process for making the same are no longer needed as a result.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2000Date of Patent: May 20, 2003Assignee: BBC International, Ltd.Inventor: Homar Hernandez

Publication number: 20020166262Abstract: A shoe has an upper, an insole and an outsole. A mesh is integrated to the bottom of the outsole to form an integrated mesh/outsole. The mesh and the outsole may be molded in a single injection molding step or the mesh may be molded to the outsole. The mesh is typically made of fabric, polymer and/or metal and preferably nylon.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2002Publication date: November 14, 2002Applicant: BBC International Ltd.Inventor: Homar Hernandez

Patent number: 6408544Abstract: A shoe designed for active wear is described having a distinctive outsole. The outsole has a peripheral wall delimiting a plantar region, a heel region and an arch region of the outsole. A cavity formed in the plantar region has a shape including a floor and an inner periphery defined by a plurality of ribs that form a structure with a series of combs articulating with the peripheral wall of the outsole. A cushioning pad is located within the cavity and molded-in-place to the inner periphery and the floor of the cavity to form an integral functional part of the outsole.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1999Date of Patent: June 25, 2002Assignee: BBC International Ltd.Inventor: Homar Hernandez
