  • Publication number: 20060208046
Abstract: A pizza box comprises a container having an assembled state as a box and an unassembled state as a flat sheet, wherein in the assembled state a top portion and a bottom portion of the box define a generally polygon shaped enclosure including at least one diagonal side. The pizza box also comprises means for generating a visual perception of higher volume of contents within the pizza box via increasing a horizontal surface area of the box external to the generally polygon shaped enclosure that contains a pizza pie. Variations of the pizza box comprise flap structures and reciprocating slots for securely fastening the top portion relative to the bottom portion as well as structures for maintaining continuous display of printed matter whether the box is open or closed via pivotal movement of the top portion relative to the bottom portion.

  • Publication number: 20060027106
Abstract: An apparatus for holding multiple pizzas includes a pan and an insert adapted to fit within the pan. The insert includes a plurality of sidewalls extending between a base of the insert and an upper portion of the insert, and the sidewalls generally surround a plurality of openings defined by the insert in the base. The insert is adapted to fit within the pan such that each of the multiple pizzas contacts a bottom of the pan and the sidewalls of the insert. A method of making multiple pizzas includes placing a support into a cooking vessel, placing dough across the support to form multiple dough portions, placing ingredients on the multiple dough portions to form multiple pizzas, and placing the support and the cooking vessel into a heating environment to bake the multiple pizzas.

  • Publication number: 20030209194
Abstract: A pizza sauce dispenser simultaneously dispenses and spreads a precisely controlled amount of sauce onto a pizza dough base without manually handling the sauce or the dough during operation. The dispenser includes a selectively rotatable disc and an arm that selectively extends over the disc. At lease one nozzle is supported by the arm and selectively dispenses the sauce onto the dough. A control mechanism controls: (1) a selected rate and direction of disc rotation; (2) a selected pivot rate and direction of the arm; and/or (3) a selected rate of dispensing sauce through the nozzle. In use, with pizza dough placed on the disc, the disc is rotated and the arm pivoted over the dough so that the nozzle traverses a path from the outside edge of the dough to the center of the dough or vice versa. Sauce thus is deposited in a spiral or other desirable pattern.

  • Patent number: 6281477
Abstract: A delivery bag for pizza or other products includes upper, lower, rear, and first and second side panels and a closure flap. The panels and flap are made from a substantially flexible insulating panel material and have interior and exterior surfaces. The panel material is capable of conveying moisture from the interior surface to the exterior surface. The delivery bag also includes one or more pockets fixed to interior surfaces of the panels. A modular heating element is disposed in each pocket. The delivery bag as described advantageously maintains temperatures of pizzas therein, yet allows relative humidity to decline over a specified period of time, thereby preventing e.g. pizza crusts from becoming soggy. Corresponding methods provide similar advantages.
