  • Patent number: 10291362
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods are provided for enhancing hybrid automatic repeat request (ARQ) performance. In an example method, a communication device transmits a first element of a vector, where the vector is selected using the information bits to be transmitted as an index in a code book. In some embodiments, this code book is constructed using Linear Constellation Precoding (LCP). If a NACK is received, the communication device transmits a second element of the vector. The process of transmitting elements of the vector continues until an ACK is received or the maximum number of transmission attempts is reached. If an ACK is received, the communication device transmits a first element of another vector of the code book that encodes a second set of information bits. This procedure may continue until all information bits have been transmitted successfully.

  • Publication number: 20180138951
Abstract: A method, in a network node (20, 800) serving K scheduled user equipments (UEs), of selecting a subset of antennas from a plurality of available antennas (815) for use in communicating with the K scheduled UEs (50d) while reducing interference to Kv victim UEs (50v), each of the antennas characterized by a channel vector describing gains between the antenna on the one hand and the scheduled and victim UEs on the other hand. The method includes repeating the following steps until at least K+Kv antennas have been selected: for each antenna of a plurality of unselected antennas of the plurality of antennas, generating a composite matrix of channel gains between selected ones of the antennas including the antenna on one hand and the scheduled and victim UEs on the other hand (204); and selecting one of the plurality of unselected antennas that minimizes a function of antenna gains from the selected ones of the antennas to the scheduled and victim UEs (206).

  • Publication number: 20150124893
Abstract: A modulation-assisted preprocessing scheme for non-binary LDPC reduces the computational complexity of non-binary LDPC decoding. A received signal is directly mapped onto a truncated symbol vector through a table lookup. The mapping table is built off-line based on the characteristics of a constellation structure. The receiver calculates and, if necessary, ranks the reliability of the symbols in the truncated vectors. This avoids unnecessary reliability calculation and ranking during on-line operation. The disclosed preprocessing methods offer lower computational complexity in terms of ranking and addition operations while offering the same error rate performance as conventional EMS preprocessing.
