  • Publication number: 20060216477
Abstract: A micro-reflecting layer of the present invention used for polarized plates and display device comprises a transparent resin layer and a plurality of micro-reflecting particles. The micro-reflecting particles are uniformly implanted into the transparent resin, and light from an external source partially passes through the micro-reflecting particles and partially is reflected by the micro-reflecting particles to display an image. Furthermore, a plurality of optical diffusing particles is also added into the micro-reflecting layer so as to uniformly diffuse the light in the micro-reflecting layer.

  • Publication number: 20060054796
Abstract: A stress inducing device for inducing stress into a fiber optic cable is useful for detecting a person attempting to breach a security fence by climbing over the security fence. A stress inducing device is attached adjacent to a top of each fence post of the security fence. A fiber optic cable runs adjacent to a top of the security fence, and passes through each of the stress inducing devices. Once activated, a pressing member of the stress inducing device will pinch the fiber optic cable therein causing an alarm. The stress inducing device will be activated if a person leans a ladder against the fiber optic cable or the stress inducing device itself, or if a person attempts to open or tamper with the stress inducing device.

  • Publication number: 20050254767
Abstract: A clip for holding a first section of fiber optic cable to a second section of fiber optic cable is useful in forming a weave pattern in a fiber optic security fence. The fiber optic security fence is constructed by forming a zigzag pattern in a fiber optic cable and attaching this pattern to an existing barrier fence, e.g. a galvanized chain-link fence. Clips are provided to hold portions of the fiber optic cable together in the zigzag pattern. The clips are formed such that, once installed, they are very difficult to remove without cutting, stressing or bending the fiber optic cable sections passing therethrough. Therefore, the clips will prevent intruders from disconnecting the pattern of the fiber optic cable, in order to cut through the barrier fence and gain entry into a secure area.

  • Patent number: 6960528
Abstract: Nanotip arrays are formed by exposing a substrate to a process gas mixture that simultaneously forms nanomasks on the substrate surface and etches exposed portions of the substrate surface to form the nanotip array. Components of the process gas mixture form nanocrystallites on the surface of the substrate, thereby masking portions of the substrate from other components of the process gas mixture, which etch exposed portions of the substrate. Accordingly, nanotip arrays formed using this technique can have nanocrytallite endpoints.

  • Publication number: 20050219871
Abstract: In a power factor corrector including a PWM switch to switch a line current generated from a line voltage to charge a boost capacitor to thereby generate an output voltage, a piecewise on-time modulation apparatus and method comprise comparing a line voltage dependent voltage with an output voltage dependent voltage to generate a comparison signal to determine the on-time of the PWM switch. When the line voltage is lower than a threshold, the on-time of the PWM switch varies with the line voltage, and when the line voltage is higher than the threshold, the on-time of the PWM switch is constant.

  • Publication number: 20050113145
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for displaying various information on a display section of a mobile communication terminal to efficiently utilize a screen in a standby state of the mobile communication terminal. The mobile communication terminal alternately displays basic information and user information set by the user on a display section through dividing display time thereof. Thus, the user repeatedly views basic information, which is basically displayed on the display section, and special information to be remembered or memorized. The display section is used for language study and schedule display. The method allows the mobile communication terminal to match with various demands of the users, so that efficiency of the mobile communication terminal is improved.

  • Publication number: 20050107968
Abstract: A monitoring system evaluates the integrity of a fiber optic cable, having a weave pattern and being attached to a security fence. To establish and calibrate the monitoring system, the present invention provides a system and method for establishing a look-up table to be stored in a memory. Any breakage in, bending of, or stress on the fiber optic cable is noted by the monitoring system by an alarm, and a length of cable between the monitoring system and the affected portion of the fiber optic cable is determined. The look-up table is indexed to determine a zone of potential breach. Further, an average weave density of the affected zone is computed, so that an approximate location of the potential breach within the affected zone, in terms of ground distance, can be accurately determined and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20050104720
Abstract: A method for providing a progressive alarm function in a mobile terminal is provided. In an alarm setting mode, an initial alarm time input by the user is set as an alarm time of the terminal and a unit time for changing the alarm time is set. After an alarm is output at the set alarm time, it is checked to determine whether a specific key is pressed within a predetermined time. If the specific key is pressed, the alarm time is extended by the unit time. The progressive alarm function allows the user to optionally control alarm setting of the terminal to continually change the alarm time. The alarm time is not fixed but instead the user can continually extend the alarm time by pressing the specific key without the trouble of performing a number of key operations to change the alarm time in the alarm setting menu.

  • Patent number: 6600904
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved structure of a bracket component for the press button of a mobile phone, more particularly to another improved design implemented in the interior of a printed circuit board having control button on it for a bracket component by using thin membrane touch switch within a mobile phone. The bracket component according to the present invention is a curved metallic guiding bracket wherein the corresponding surrounding.has an inward cut curve, and such cut curve design has a four supporting legs deposed around the aligned design on the printed circuit board allowing a better positioning function. Furthermore, the present invention with the cut curve design has a characteristic to resume the press keys more effectively, and in turn elongate the life of the bracket.
