  • Patent number: 8221101
Abstract: A scroll compressor includes a fluid guide having a flow path through which a fluid discharged to an inner space of a casing from a compression part flows, for guiding a flowing direction of the fluid to be changed along the flow path. Oil is effectively separated from a refrigerant discharged from the compression part, thereby being prevented from leaking outside the casing. Oil mixed with the refrigerant is moved to a lower space of the casing by the fluid guide thus to cool a lower winding coil. Accordingly, an efficiency of a driving motor is enhanced, and a performance of the scroll compressor is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 7722341
Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided. The scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll, each with a wrap extending from a plate. The wrap or the plate may have different heights so as to prevent a gap from forming between the end of one of the wraps and the opposite plate. Accordingly, performance of the compressor may be enhanced even if manufacturing tolerances are not precisely controlled or the compressor operates for an extended period of time. Furthermore, frictional loss due to increased frictional area of an edge of the plate may be prevented, and refrigerant leakage due to separation between the wrap and the plate may be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7695257
Abstract: An apparatus for preventing vacuum of a scroll compressor is provided. The apparatus includes a fixed scroll having a bypass hole, through which a suction chamber of a casing is connected to a discharge chamber of the casing; a valve block having an inner channel, through which the bypass hole of the fixed scroll is connected to the discharge chamber of the casing, and fixedly installed at the fixed scroll; and a valve member disposed between the bypass hole of the fixed scroll and the inner channel of the valve block. Since the apparatus is assembled at an outer periphery of the fixed scroll, a processing error of the fixed scroll is prevented, thereby reducing production costs. Also, since foreign materials generated when a refrigerant channel is processed do not remain in a valve hole, the valve member is prevented from being mal-operated, productivity is enhanced, and fabrication costs reduced.

  • Patent number: 7473083
Abstract: A scroll compressor including an oil separator is provided. The oil separator may be provided with a rotor or a shaft of a driving motor of the compressor so that refrigerant gas and oil discharged from a compression chamber may be separated by a centrifugal force. The oil separator may include a plurality of oil separation holes formed in an eccentric mass and a rotor. Rotation of the shaft/rotor and subsequent rotation of the eccentric mass generates a centrifugal force, causing separation of oil from refrigerant gas contained in the oil separation holes. Accordingly, oil is maintained in the casing, and is prevented from being discharged out of the compressor, thus preventing abrasion due to oil deficiency and a degradation in reliability of the compressor. Furthermore, oil is prevented from being discharged to a refrigerating system externally coupled to the compressor, thereby enhancing performance of the refrigerating system.
