    Abstract: A method of forming a wire grid polarizing pattern across the relatively large surface area of a display substrate includes using a nano imprint lithograph process wherein wire grid polarizing patterns are formed by bonding a stamp having a stamping area substantially smaller than that of the substrate with successive reticle areas of the substrate, where the substrate has a photosensitive film deposited thereon and where the stamping is such that recesses having a predetermined depth are formed in the photosensitive film, and then filling the recesses with an insulating film and etching it using the insulating film as a mask. Since mechanical misalignment margin is acceptable from one reticle area to the next, a wire grid polarizing pattern with a uniform line width and spacings in each reticle area can be formed on a substrate having a large area.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a transreflective type LCD, a method of manufacturing the same and a method of thin film transistor thereof. A TFT and a pixel electrode connected with a drain electrode of the TFT are formed on a TFT substrate. The pixel electrode includes a reflective electrode for reflecting a first light from an external and a transmissive electrode for transmitting a second light generated in the transreflective type LCD. The reflective electrode is formed to have a size no more than a size of an area in which the reflective electrode is not overlapped with the transmissive electrode. Thus, visual differences between the reflective and the transmissive modes are reduced. Also, the reflective electrode for reflecting the first light is formed with the TFT through one process, thereby reducing the number of manufacturing processes of the transreflective type LCD and the thickness thereof.

    Abstract: According to the method of forming a multi-domain for aligning liquid crystal, an alignment film is formed on a substrate. The alignment film is scanned with an atomic beam irradiated in a first direction to form a first domain in a first region of the first alignment film. Then, the alignment film is scanned with the atomic beam irradiated in a second direction to form a second domain in a second region of the first alignment film. Thus, the multi-domain is formed by non-contacting method, so that a number of process and a time used for manufacturing the multi-domain are reduced.
