    Abstract: Systems and methods for beam failure recovery (BFR) are disclosed herein. A user equipment (UE) receives downlink (DL) reference signal(s) on corresponding beam(s) from a base station. The UE performs beam failure detection (BFD) on such beams used for user data to determine whether a beam failure has occurred, and candidate beam detection (CBD) on such beams not used for user data to identify candidate beams for recovering from the beam failure. The BFD and the CBD are based on both uplink (UL) channel performance considerations and DL channel performance considerations, as determined using the DL reference signal(s), such that a beam failure may be determined in the UL, the DL, or both, and a candidate beam may be identified for UL, DL, or both. The UE sends a beam failure recovery request BFRQ with this information to the base station, and the system changes beams accordingly.

    Abstract: Some aspects include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for identifying a panel on user equipment (UE) for sounding reference signal (SRS) and/or physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) communications. This panel selection may be applicable to codebook as well as non-codebook based PUSCH transmission schemes. In some aspects, a base station may provide the UE with an indication of one or more SRS resources and/or sets of SRS resources. The UE may then identify a panel corresponding to the indicated SRS resources and use this panel for PUSCH communications. In some aspects, the UE may apply prioritization scheduling when the UE uses different panels for SRS and PUSCH communications. This prioritization scheduling may address switching delays, which may occur when the UE switches between panels.

An example method includes a user equipment (UE) transmitting an indication of a capability to measure a synchronization signal block (SSB) outside of an active bandwidth part (BWP) to a base station. The method can further include the UE receiving, based on the transmission, a first configuration parameter for identifying a first BWP and a second BWP, a second configuration parameter for identifying the first BWP as an active BWP, and a third configuration parameter for identifying a frequency that is carrying the SSB. The method can further include the UE detecting the SSB in the second BWP and outside of the active BWP. The method can further include the UE measuring the SSB.

    Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) that schedules a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) in a slot, and on a component carrier (CC) of a plurality of CCs. The PDCCH may include a total downlink assignment index (DAI) and a counter DAI for hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback of the PDSCH. The total DAI may indicate a total number of pairs of CCs and slots for the HARQ-ACK feedback. The UE may encode the HARQ-ACK feedback to include a bit that indicates whether the PDSCH is successfully decoded. A size of the HARQ-ACK feedback may be based on the total DAI, and a position of the bit may be based on the counter DAI.

    Abstract: Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing techniques for a user equipment (UE) to multiplex a first HARQ of a first priority and a second HARQ of a second priority to form an initial UCI payload. The UE can select a PUCCH resource accordingly to a PUCCH configuration, and generate a second UCI payload by removing or replacing at least a portion of the initial UCI payload when a size of the initial UCI payload is larger than a size of the PUCCH resource. The UE can encode at least a part of the second UCI payload including the first HARQ to generate an error correction code word. Afterwards, the UE can add the error correction code word to the second UCI payload to generate a transmission UCI payload, and transmit the transmission UCI payload to the base station.
